Both the 7th and 8th grade bands earned first division in their competition today!

School is cancelled tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16th due to inclement weather. Stay warm!

Our 8th graders had a great time playing kickball at KIPP Generations. They were able to play with other 8th graders from 3D because they will be teammates next year!

Go Astros! We will be live streaming the parade today to celebrate Houston history!

Our students absolutely loved the Fall Festival. We had a ton of awesome volunteers who helped make the day so special! Huge shout out to Mrs. De La Cerda and Nena Suarez for coordinating the festival and haunted house! The festival helped raised over $6,000 for our end of year trips! Wahooooo!

Skate Night was a huge success! Thanks to all the families that came out :) Ms. Batten, Ms. Taluyo, Ms. Lewis, Ms. Ortuno, Ms. Clark, Mr. Bujosa and Ms. Tate were all there having fun!! Big shout out to 8th grade for having the most kids in attendance!! We had 36 5th grade, 26 6th grade, 28 7th and 37 8th grade ! Stay tuned for which homeroom us the greatest percentage of kids there!

Fall Festival flyer went home today!! Next Tuesday is going to be awesome :) To participate in all of the fun and spooky rotations, students must turn in $20. Please read through the flyer and reach out with questions.

It is CHOCOLATE season at KIPP Intrepid! Who will be our best student sellers this year? Chocolate will go home on Thursday during early dismissal. Thank you in advance for supporting KIPP Intrepid and fundraising for all of our new furniture this year!

Ms. Marcon's 8th grade scientists have been working on a density and buoyancy lab. This team's boat made of aluminum foil and paper held 400 grams of material without sinking! She did this same lab with college kids when she taught physics and the record for them was about 250 grams. Ms. Marcon exclaimed, "I am so impressed by their work!!"

Mr. Blanco had an art show with his 7th graders yesterday. They have been diligently working on their self portraits :) Looking good class of 2023!

A parent / guardian is required to attend with their Intrepid student. Students will sign the commitment letter along with their parents, teachers and school leadership team. A formal parent note will be explaining this night in more detail.

We have missed all of our incredible East End families. We know that many of you have faced many difficulties in the aftermath of Harvey. To check in with families and share community, we will be hosting a block party today from 3-5PM. We are so excited to see you! KIPP Intrepid and KIPP Explore will be having a joint event :)

Our fantastic 6th graders are finally on their way back to Houston from our Washington D.C trip! What an amazing week filled with pride in our nation and pride in our future being led by these cool kids!

We had an amazing day in DC today! How silly are we? Comment on your favorite picture below. We had a photo contest between chaperone groups at the National Sculpture Garden!

Today was a long day of driving for our 6th graders but we had a blast playing loteria, watching movies, eating yummy food and karaoking to end the night!

Our last day at camp!!

Our 5th graders are having a blast at The Outdoor School :) Congrats to all the students who earned it! We have learned about lizards, climbed some tall walls, had a bonfire with marshmallows and more!!!

Huge congrats to our 7th-8th grade band! They earned 2nd place out of 30 schools!!! Shout out to Mr Davis for going above and beyond and bringing our kids together in such a fun and beautiful way! We might have to pry that trophy out of his hands :)

Shout out to all of our parents for a wonderful teacher appreciation week! Our KPA offered a delicious variety of food for all of our staff - from the Moon Rooster food truck, to amazing Thai food, to a feast from Italy and a classic Texas BBQ!
