The Center of Innovative Medication Management (CIMM) has opened on our Brooklyn campus. The CIMM is a state-of-the-art laboratory designed in partnership with Omnicell to provide an immersive pharmacy technology and analytics experience for LIU pharmacy students.

“The last 25 years have seen the remarkable adoption of robotics, automation, intelligence, and electronic health record management in advancing patient safety. We congratulate and celebrate PharmD student, Minna Abdelaziz, for being a part of the Industry Pharmacists Organization(IPhO) annual conference as a panelist for Chapter Best Practices.
IPhO is a pharmacy organization supporting students who are either interested in the industry or simply looking for an opportunity to grow themselves professionally. Their events host a variety of different industry professionals, who help expose our students to different functional areas along with advice on how to push themselves forward.

Dr. Brooke Fidler, Associate Professor and Director of Co-Curricular Affairs & Patient Simulation successfully passed the Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) exam. The CHSE certification validates the knowledge of best practices in simulation and helps to implement and improve overall simulation processes and its integration in an organization. Specifically at LIU Pharmacy, Dr. Fidler aims to expand the use of standardized patients throughout the pharmacy curriculum to ensure students in all professional years are prepared for real practice.

Congratulations to Dr. Sharareh Senemar​ for receiving the 2021 American Associations Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Best Poster Abstract award for the second year. The abstract titled Comparison of Metronidazole Dermal Pharmacokinetics between Mini-pig and Rabbit was a collaboration between Dr. Benjamin Kuzma, Dr. Grazia Stagni and Dr. Senemar.

The best poster abstract award celebrates the most exciting research to be found in the posters of AAPS annual conferences (October 2021).

Congratulations Vivek Patel on his internship at Merck. He says:
"I am thankful to the LIU professors who gave me a chance to work in a research lab. They gave me the opportunity to work with various instruments in the lab and to learn new techniques. I got the opportunity to work in various industrial projects, which gave me an idea of how to present ideas and talk with industrial people. My mentor's belief of presenting ideas and leading projects in an independent way gave me confidence in how to face challenges in research and to deal with it."

We congratulate Sharmistha Das, PhD student in Pharmaceutics for bagging an internship at Arvinas, the Protac Company.
She says:
"My mentor Dr.David Taft introduced me to the concept of in-silico modeling. I got invested in this and developed my skills via his help and some of the courses offered at the graduate level of LIU Pharmacy. Over the period of my PhD, I got to work on various projects in cross functional teams which helped me grow as a scientist and hone my skills which led me being a fit for the current position”
