I really need help. I’m being crushed by all the debt I accumulated during Chicano’s cancer treatments.

I am stunned. Just learned of the passing of director Jeff Burr. A man who inspired me first as a filmmaker and then later in life as a friend when I really truly needed it.
His film Eddie Presley made me want to tell personal stories and be more than just a technician as a filmmaker but to be a storyteller.
While I was making Depression: The Movie I wasn’t certain I was cut out to make films. Jeff pushed me and praised my work so much so that I kept going. He made it clear that I had a voice in my work and something to say.
He then did me the honor of doing a fun and silly cameo in my film Making Out. Took me to dinner and talked to me all about making films in the 80s, in Romania and how everything had shifted and changed.
My first real show business friend. Someone who really made me feel like I wasn’t a pretender. I’m going to miss you Jeff. I still had a poster for you to sign, I thought we would have so much more time. I suppose that’s life.
