It’s been so frightening to see the images of New York. Our climate is warming much quicker than anyone predicted. It’s creating disasters around the world and now these fires. What’s the world we want to leave for our children. Often climate change problems seem very abstract but with this hitting home, my hope is that it’s a wake up call and that we look at the causes in a serious way now. I’m not an expert but I know we need to change. We need to change what and how we eat. We can’t continue in the same way.

This weekend, my friend Christina (.is.for.vegan ) and I spent the day brainstorming ideas on how to reach more potential clients and persuade them to add a vegan menu. We even spent some time visiting a few restaurant and cafes and started conversations with them about the rise in demand for vegan options and our services that could help them. We may not have secured any clients, but we planted many seeds in the minds of these business owners. Sometimes, starting a conversation is all it takes for a restaurant to become more aware of the demand for vegan options 🙌🏼 🌱

This day brought me so much joy!!! As you can probably tell from our faces. We truly love the work that we do😁

All Volunteers who are not joining us via Ferry please meet at the Boardwalk at Beach 98th Street at 1:00pm

We will have refreshments and a small snack.

All food will be Vegan. (No Animal Products)

Come out and help us clean the Ocean for our non human animals of the ocean.

You don't need to Vegan or an Activist to attend. We want YOU to attend to help.

Has your restaurant hesitated to add more than one vegan option to your menu because you’re just not getting a lot of requests for vegan food? ⁣

Or did you decide to add a vegan option and then removed it because no one was ordering it?⁣

Do you believe that because you’re not getting vegan requests that there’s a low demand for vegan food in your neighborhood?⁣

✨THE PARADOX OF ONE OPTION✨⁣

Yes, it’s a thing. And it may be a reason you’re losing business 💰 ⁣

It sounds like a logical idea to start testing the market by adding one vegan option to your menu. Makes sense to not want to add additional ingredients and costs before you know whether people will order your new items. ⁣

Unfortunately, ONE option never sells.⁣

Now, the burger in this pic looks epic but take a look at menus in your area —is the only option at most restaurants a burger? How many burgers can a vegan eat? 🤨 ⁣

Think about it this way 👇⁣

Would you go shopping at a clothing store with only one pair of pants in your size? ⁣

Would you bother to drive all the way to an arcade with just one game?⁣

Would you go to a toy store with one toy for your child’s age range? ⁣

Your answer to these questions is probably no...or...maybe once, but would you return?⁣

What do your vegan customers (and all customers, and all humans in general) want? Choice. ⁣

Without a choice, you won’t attract new customers. ⁣

This is why we recommend starting with a minimum vegan menu of 2 apps and 3 mains when you’re testing the waters. ⁣

Bonus tip: To really test demand, before you even change your menu, contact a restaurant nearby that is already serving vegan options and ask them how much they’re selling each week. That will be a more accurate estimate than the amount of guests who come to try your one option. ⁣
