Supporting The Cake Detective

Great to hear from Laura, who joined Rototuna Rotary's club meeting last week to bring us up to date with The Cake Detective. It was fantastic to award The Cake Detective a grant for $4,900 being a share of the proceeds from November's Korikori Christmas Market.

Tonight I was left feeling rather speechless and very very humble.

I had gone along to attend Rototuna Rotary meeting to watch Laura from The Cake Detective Charitable Trust receive the cheque from Korikori Christmas market.

Seeing Laura receive this cheque from a Markets and More event is one of my "Whys'. The donation of $4900 will help almost 100 children receive a birthday cake this year.

So I was sitting there basking in the knowledge that my mahi contributed towards this cheque when I was called upon and then presented with a Paul Harris Fellow award - this is to recognise those who give service to their community.

As it was presented to me there was also mention of the fact its not just me but my whole family being recognised with the award. Mark Stevenson, Brie Stevenson and Keaten Stevenson are behind and beside me every step of the way with all my crazy ideas and support me emotionally and physically at every single event.
So this award is for them too.

And a big thank you to Harold the Giraffe and Santa for coming along to Korikori Christmas Market, making the day for many children.

A week on from this year's Korikori Christmas Market and we would like to thank our two neighbouring schools for helping make the day such a success.

We helped put up a lot of gazebos on Saturday morning, and a big thank you to those local companies who loaned gazebos on the day

Hope you all enjoyed listening to our busker for the day, Amber, we certainly did, thank you.

More market day admin and the caravan is PACKED!!

This is the type of email I get that sadly is not uncommon.
Needless to say this person will be removed from all future markets. Asking for refunds when you have ticked and agreed to the no refund terms and conditions and then having a go at someone who does all of this as a volunteer is abhorrent!!
Don't hammer people who step up for others!!!

I was wondering how you where getting on with a refund for me. Which this shouldn’t be a problem as I gather you are still taking registrations (new stallholder( for the market on Saturday.

Or is this a money making venture that is not community minded.

Our annual market fundraiser is on this Saturday 25th November at Korikori Park Rototuna 9am - 2pm.

If you can’t make it on the day our online store has just opened with Caramilk Balls, Gingerbread men, Lollycake, Shortbread and Chocolate chip cookies.

All proceeds go directly back into our mahi of donating birthday cakes to deserving young ones in our community who are going through a hard time.
