Our first week has been full of reconnecting, learning and even some friendly competition with the Yu Ying Olympics (building tallest tower) for team bonding. We can’t wait to see you soon.

Congratulations to our incredible YY alumni (not all pictured) graduating from DCI and stepping into the exciting world of college! We are so proud of these lifelong learners and can’t wait to see what they achieve next.

Reunited and it feels so good! This past weekend, we had a heartwarming, potluck reunion for all graduating seniors of YY alumni. 🎓 The first picture captures the real MVPs – our incredible parents who support and involvement have been the backbone of our tight knit community.

Our hearts are full watching this next chapter unfold for all graduating seniors of Yu Ying Alumni. The bonds forged at Yu Ying are truly special. 🫶

Chilling with the coolest teachers & leaders as part of kindergarten final unit of inquiry on habitats! Our arctic explorers, surrounded by amazing artwork by Ming Laoshi, are ready to navigate igloos, mermaid, tales, and hang with Arctic animals as they dive into the arctic adventure!

Full circle moments visiting YY, where it all began for these graduating seniors at . We plan to host a day for ALL alums in the coming weeks to say hello to teachers and volunteer in classrooms. Stay tuned!

Kicking off the Yu Ying Celebration series with super awesome achievements this weekend! 🎉 Shoutout to the Girls on the Run’s Spring team for completing their 5K!

And huge congrats to Yang Laoshi and Yu Ying for sweeping the top awards at the Chinese speaking competition! 🏆

Hmm…. Where is this space? It’s our renewed staff lounge! A huge shout out to our PA colleagues and committee for all the love and work that one into refreshing the space. From mood board creation to sourcing new furniture, and a special thanks to the families for their generous donations- we are so grateful!! YY staff will surely enjoy the space and stay caffeinated! ☕️

Representing Yu Ying at the National Chinese Language Conference 2024 in San Francisco! Our staff had a fantastic opportunity to engage with other educators to share best practices in Chinese language learning, visit other immersion schools in the Bay Area, and connect with other leaders in Chinese language learning.

Happy ! Sarah has been part of our community for 15 years, now leading our capital campaign for the new Early Learning Center and securing grants behind the scenes. Autumn, who leads key school projects, also wears many hats—heading our equity team and supporting our ED. Shoutout to these two for their dedication and hard work! 🌟

Two amazing days of high energy GLEE! Our campus was filled with joy, inquiry, math, writing and so much more. Thank you to everyone who played a part in making YY a great place of learning for our students!

Join us during the eclipse timing on Monday, Apr 8 between 3 - 4 pm. Maximum eclipse will be at 3:20 pm, with the sun 87% covered by the moon. We will have viewing glasses for all!

Excited to kick off YU HELP, our high-impact after-school tutoring program by YY alums, spearheaded by Harvin-Conner Laoshi! The alums are here to help and inspire learners while fostering new relationships with YY students on campus.

Sixteen years of community outshine even on the dreariest of days! Thank you to everyone who joined us last Saturday for our annual gala. A special shoutout to our co-chairs, Monet & Sheeny, for their passion and dedication and to every person behind the scenes who played a part in making the night a success.

As a culmination to Black History Month, last Friday, the 5th graders did a special project with our prek3 buddies! They taught the prek3ers about the significance of the colors black, red, yellow and green to BHM and then did a bracelet craft together.

Exploring the world of city planning with the second graders at the Building Museum today! From learning about zoning to creating their own cityscape, topped off with a visit to the Lego museum – such a cool educational adventure! 🌆🏗️
