Chance The Grappler
40 year old BJJ Black Belt looking to make connections and have fun with social media.
Chance The Grappler
Hi,
I’m Chance Vanek aka Chance The Grappler. A little over 10 years ago I made the decision to start training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
I walked through the doors of a gym that is now know as Syndicate Mixed Martial Arts and I instantly fell in love with the art of Jiu-Jitsu. I learned a lot about myself and a little bit about jiu-jitsu, and I’d like to share some of my knowledge with you.
Now I don’t know what it takes to be an adult black belt world champion.
I didn’t even start training jiujitsu till I was almost 30 years old.
But I do know what it takes to start jiujitsu at and age where most people quit.
To raise a child while training.
To start a business while training
To go from hobbiest jiujitsu player to full time competitor.
To growing that business.
To raising another child.
Maintaining a healthy marriage.
Losing multiple competitions.
Getting sick and tired of losing.
Continuing to compete while
dealing with extreme competition anxiety.
To eventually winning multiple ibjjf championships.
Including 3 national titles
1 Master Worlds championship title
And a nogi Master Worlds title.
And to top it all off I became 1 of only 3 people to receive a black belt from ADCC, IBJJF nogi Black Belt world champion Vinny Magalhaes.
Now I’m back at the gym where it all started. Beginning tomorrow I’ll be teaching Jiu-Jitsu with my Coach and friend Vinny Magalhaes and My Brother from another Mother Jamie Homampour.
So give the page a Like and follow along with me as I continue on my Jiu-Jitsu journey.
