The truth is... my songwriting book is *mostly* gibberish, abandoned songs, infant ideas, a ton of chaotic scribble. says that sometimes when you write, "you switch on the dirty tap, [then] 💩 water is going to flow out for a substantial amount of time." I know, I know. Gross. And if you're eating while reading this, sorry for the visual. But don't worry! Ed has a point. Eventually, after some time, "clean water will start to flow out.”..
I'm heading into 2024 not knowing what I'll fill these pages with. While my heart's returned to music, it also sways towards my poetry, towards the YA novel I'm chipping away at, and sometimes brings all of my creative corners into the same space. Then there's teaching. There's coaching. Growing godchildren (yes, plural) to love and to hear sing with their own beautiful voices. And honestly, every bit of this busy life is worth making time for. I'm very lucky to have what I have—and for whom I have to experience all these little joys with...
