It’s time to shine a light on the incredible staff members who go above and beyond as part of your student’s education! The nomination window is open for the 2024 Celebration of Excellence in Education!

This year, in addition to the Teacher of the Year, we’re celebrating many aspects of education. We’ll honor one of our dedicated custodians, a technology wizard, a support staff member, a facilities employee who keeps the lights on, your favorite cafeteria Superhero, and an outstanding principal and assistant principal! This is our opportunity to honor those who make a difference in our students’ lives each and every day!

The PBIS team is excited to announce that we are bringing back our Warrior Holiday Shop! The holiday shop allows students to shop for gifts for family and friends using ONLY their Warrior Gold that they earn in school. We are seeking donations to help make this a successful event! Donations can be dropped off at the main office and monetary donations can be made by clicking this link:

Donation Items Needed:

Wrapping Supplies (Paper, bows, tape, tags)

Gift items (new and like new acceptable)

Kids can shop for anyone, so most things are accepted! Popular gift items in the past have been candles, lotions, chapsticks, gloves, hats, scarves, small tools, small toys, etc.

We also need wrapping volunteers. Please be on the lookout for a sign up in the following weeks.

It has been a great Warrior Week and we are keeping it going. We just were notified that Havre de Grace Middle/High was nominated for best public school and Mr. Spence was nominated for Best Principal in the Best of Harford.

Calendar Reminder!

On Friday, November 3, 2023, all HCPS schools will be closed for Professional Development. Please note, schools and offices will be closed to visitors to allow ALL HCPS staff to participate in these professional development opportunities.

It's time to register for basketball! If your middle school student is interested in playing for the school's basketball team, please visit the Athletics page on the HCPS website to register for try-outs: https://www.hcps.org/departments/Curriculum/Athletics.aspx
Registration ends November 21st and late registrations are not accepted. Students must submit completed physical paperwork to the school prior to tryouts on December 11th.

All students in grades 6 through 8 were given their MCAP Score Report to take home today. All students will have a report for Math and ELA, and sixth graders will also receive their Science MISA score report. We will be hosting Parent Night on Thursday, September 28th from 6:00 to 7:30pm. At this event, we will share with you our Math and ELA curriculum and how you can help your child at home with their schoolwork. We will also explain the standardized tests your student will be taking this year and help you understand the meaning of their scores on those assessments.
