The Scarp Table⁣

With an earthen aesthetic inspired by the creative heroes of the RALPH PUCCI (sculpture studio), the Scarp Table shows the full capabilities of our Manhattan-based artisans, from modeling in clay and plaster to mold-making and hand-laying mosaic tiles, among other skills. ⁣

“The New York gallerist, who has been an active force in the city’s creative scene since the 1970s, operates his eponymous furniture and lighting gallery from an unbelievable penthouse loft in the heart of Manhattan’s Flatiron district…A visit to the unprecedented space, its home since 1992, underscores just how unique the RALPH PUCCI enterprise is.”⁣⁣

“Regeneration After The Ashes,” a collection of paintings by Spencer Fung. ⁣

was inspired to paint a series of abstract strokes honoring natural regeneration after his visceral reaction to the aftermath of forest fires. Dynamic loops suggest the rise and fall of energy, the connectivity between roots and foliage, and the concept of regeneration itself. The series reflects the growth cycle and time passing in the changing environment. ⁣

Fung connects to the land by adapting discarded natural elements into creative materials. His black and dark grey palette is reminiscent of the charcoal and ash remnants of burnt woodlands, and he self-mixes pigment with chalk, ash, and ink. ⁣

Fung’s paintings are paired with Stefan Bishop’s Ring Console and Richard Meier Light’s Intersection Chandelier. Bishop, too, is inspired by the land, having grown up in the woods of Southern Oregon, while the Intersection Chandelier contrasts with clean lines derived from architecture and industry. ⁣

A familial passion for craftsmanship. ⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Chris Lehrecke’s latest exhibition is a celebration of the trees that are local to his studio in the Hudson Valley. “Even after 40 years of making furniture with wood of all kinds, I continue to be inspired by its beauty and variations,” he says. “I do not shy away from trees with defects and character. Maybe as I grow older, I feel more connected to the imperfections.” ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
His work is shown alongside sculptures by his son, August Lehrecke. Using ancient basket weaving techniques and reeds, August has created a series of three-dimensional sculptural pieces that float above the tree-based furniture like clouds. ⁣⁣⁣

We are thrilled to unveil August Lehrecke’s series of three-dimensional sculptures now on view in New York. ⁣

Son of longtime PUCCI artist Chris Lehrecke, August continues his family’s passion for craftsmanship rooted in natural materials by working with reeds. He shapes them into sculptures through ancient basket-weaving techniques. Reflecting on his upbringing, he shares, “Growing up in the woods, immersed in my dad’s artistry, cultivated my curiosity and wonder about the natural world from early on.”⁣

“I wanted to create paintings that revealed an intimate energy, and color, to me, represents energy,” Rebecca Moses explains. “There are no lines. I wanted the patterns just to bleed into each other…So by using color and print, I’m creating these mythical-like gardens around these girls and this kind of very intimate energy, whether it’s flirtatious, or joyful, sexual or sensual, or teasing.” ⁣

“Bohemian Gardens” is on view at 44 West 18th Street in New York through September. ⁣

A series of female portraiture, Moses’ masterful use of color transforms the collection’s large-scale canvases into a kaleidoscope of hues, reminiscent of a lush garden of intricate print motifs. The works feature a world where the boundaries between reality and fantasy blur, where vibrant colours dance in harmony, and where sensuality intertwines with the beauty of nature.⁣

Presenting “Beautiful Imperfections: A Celebration of Flawed Woods” by Chris Lehrecke⁣

Synonymous with Lehrecke’s work designing and building furniture from woods of all kinds, the collection is a celebration of the trees local to his home and studio in the Hudson Valley. ⁣

With more than 40 years in furniture making, Lehrecke’s move to the Hudson Valley area some 28 years ago intensified a fascination and appreciation for the trees indigenous to this area. Building long and close relationships with local loggers and sawyers, Lehrecke has worked with many of the varied woods over the years – collecting and drying the wood at his home workshop and studio. ⁣

The new collection brings to the forefront woods often underappreciated in the commercial world due to their rarity and propensity to suffer from disease – walnut, ash, catalpa and maple – creating a series of tables, shelving systems, screens and turned pedestals. ⁣

Now on view at 44 West 18th Street in New York. ⁣

His new body of work continues to focus on materiality and artisan workmanship while exploring a new medium: finely lacquered wood. ⁣

The exterior of the Alchemist Bar appears to be gold but its name cleverly reveals its more humble origins by referencing the medieval study of transforming matter. Further surprises await as the doors open to a well-lit interior, ideal for showcasing all the accouterments needed to craft the perfect cocktail. ⁣

⁣⁣
Based in Honolulu, sculptor and painter John Koga’s work ranges from small paintings to large sculptures and environmental installations. Koga’s latest outdoor installation at the RALPH PUCCI (miami) gallery features cut stone sculptures stacked vertically and horizontally, showcasing Koga’s interest in form and art’s connection to the Earth. ⁣⁣

John Koga says of the installation: “My relationship with these stones starts with a connection to form. I like to celebrate nature’s bold beauty by cutting and restacking the form in a standing or sitting position. Once positioned the stones reconnect to earth and the stillness and quiet begin. We become present together.”⁣⁣

(as seen by) Antoine Bootz⁣

Antoine Bootz, known for his captivating photography, applies his creative vision to the work of Lee F. Mindel, FAIA, for our latest (as seen by) series which invites artists to interpret another’s work using different artistic mediums. ⁣

“Veritas,” the Plasterglass collection created by Mindel, assimilates diverse cultural and geographic references including 20th-century ceramicists, architectural details from around the globe, and even the natural beauty of Sweden and Finland’s topography. He distills these elements into a body of work characterized by organic forms, hand-sculpted textures, and thoughtful use of color. ⁣

Bootz emphasizes the distinct forms of the “Veritas” collection by juxtaposing the pieces with elements of abstract art such as shapes, colors, and gestural marks. His approach ultimately reveals the deliberate purity of Mindel’s collection. ⁣

The Amalfi Chair by was a revelation when it debuted in 2016. The distinctive curves, not-quite-smooth texture, and matte finish elevated outdoor furniture beyond the teak and rattan offerings that dominated the market and introduced a piece that blurred the lines between function and sculpture. ⁣

Though it was originally conceived for outdoor use, it continues to be embraced indoors as well. We are thrilled to announce that the Amalfi Chair is now available in vibrant orange and custom colors. ⁣

Elizabeth Garouste in our New York (sculpture studio)⁣

During her artist-in-residency, Garouste crafted a new collection modeled first in plaster and clay before being cast in our proprietary Plasterglass material. She worked with our Master Sculptor to incorporate bold colors and even a new material—mosaic—into the free-flowing forms. ⁣

“This collection is very special. It’s in plasterglass,” Garouste said. “The highlight is really the material. You can shape and model it how you want, like clay or bronze. It’s not plaster, which is very fragile. It’s reinforced for durability, but it maintains the look of plaster, which everybody appreciates, and has the ability to take color beautifully.”⁣

The intersection of arts: dancers perform original choreography on Elizabeth Garouste’s Double Tom Table at our recent Los Angeles opening.⁣

Our presentations effortlessly blend various artistic mediums to foster inspiration and further explore a body of work. A jazz note might spark curiosity about an art piece, while a graceful movement could evoke a newfound appreciation for a particular form.⁣

“She has an original mind and it’s her language —fun, fantastic, surreal, whimsical— all the things she’s touched on in her decades-long career,” says Ralph Pucci. Each piece in Elizabeth Garouste’s new exhibition is rooted in the decorative arts tradition while still breaking with conventional aesthetics.

Marjorie Salvaterra; ‘Swinger 1’, 2023⁣

Included in the artist’s latest exhibition in Los Angeles, ‘Swinger 1’ captures a brief moment when time is suspended and, for a split second, the subject is motionless before gravity exerts its pull once more. ⁣

Salvaterra’s photographs explore the intricacies of not knowing what lies ahead, though she urges the viewer to seek solace in the present amid the constant motion of beginnings and endings. ⁣

“aquarius” by Elizabeth Garouste opens tonight in Los Angeles.⁣

We are thrilled to unveil the iconic artist’s latest creative endeavor: a sanctuary far from the tumult of the world and the frenzy of a busy city. The tableau depicts an underwater universe where silence and mystery reign supreme, realized through large-scale exterior and interior murals along with furniture and lighting in striking colors and organic shapes.

“Almost Spring” by opens on Thursday, April 4th in Los Angeles.⁣

In her latest series of photographs, Salvaterra delves into the intricacies of uncertainty, capturing those moments of being betwixt and between, unsure of what lies ahead. The presence of fear often shadows the unknown, mingling with impatience as we eagerly await guidance or a sign. Yet, amidst this uncertainty, there’s a chance to find solace—a hiatus from the constant motion of beginnings and endings. In the ethereal hues of whites and soft tones, “Almost Spring” invites us to pause, to simply exist, and to embrace the tranquility of the present moment.⁣

First look: Elizabeth Garouste’s forthcoming exhibition “Aquarius” at RALPH PUCCI Los Angeles. ⁣

Opening next week on April 4th, the show will include large-scale exterior and interior murals along with ten works in Plasterglass and upholstery that reflect the uniquely creative mind of the artist. ⁣

Garouste shares, “This collection is a combination of imagination and functionality. It is special because it was developed in the atelier at the [New York] gallery. I was able to come to the site to work on the forms, and the models, like they were sculptures...I wanted my collection to play with colors and even to introduce a new material: mosaic. I’ve always loved putting color in my objects and furniture to bring joie de vivre into the home.”⁣

The Lustre Candy by .⁣⁣⁣⁣

Van der Straeten weaves a sense of playfulness into his work without compromising integrity or substance, as evidenced by the limited edition Lustre Candy made of bronze rings, multi-colored glass plates, and crystal. Meticulously assembled by small ateliers in France, the exuberance of the piece belies its careful construction. “⁣I make a lot of sketches in my notebook and at one point I wanted something more colorful, joyful, and dynamic, hence the theme,” Van der Straeten explains.⁣⁣⁣
