🚨ATTENTION HOME BUYERS - SHARE THIS IMPORTANT NEWS🚨

Starting August 17th, 2024, due to a lawsuit settlement, ALL HOME BUYERS - IN EVERY STATE - will need to sign a "Buyer Broker Agreement (BBA)" when working with a Real Estate Agent/REALTOR®. This new rule is meant to clearly explain what Buyers will pay their agents and how the agents get paid. At Priority First we are being proactive and starting from this day forward.

Before any agent can show you homes, either in person or virtually, this agreement must be signed. We want to make sure Buyers know they aren't being pressured by agents into signing these agreements. It's now a standard requirement across all states.

At Priority First Real Estate Professionals, we've been using these agreements in Utah for years, but until now, we could wait until an offer was being made before needing a BBA. MOVING FORWARD FROM THIS DAY ON, it will be required right from the start of working with a Buyer. The duration of the BBA can be as short as a day or as long as you want, but it must at least cover the entire transaction period if an offer is accepted. Typically, the BBA ends when the deal closes.

Additionally, it's essential to understand the importance of a BBA and even more important to have an agent on your side that understand it and can explain it to you before you sign. This agreement allows your agent to fully represent you in the transaction, ensuring you receive all the crucial information about a property that you might not otherwise know. Having a dedicated agent on your side is truly in your best interest, as they can provide expert guidance, protect your interests, and help you make informed decisions throughout the home buying process.

IMPORTANT: BBAs are not all the same. They can vary from Brokerage to Brokerage.
