FALL SEMESTER 2020: A Successful Start
Thanks to the hard work of all the professors who have been
sending in pre-recorded teaching materials, the Fall 2020 semester officially began on October 19th. Fifty-four courses (47 major courses + 4 language courses + 3 MOOC courses) plus four special lectures are being offered this semester. Forty-three faculty from 20 different countries are teaching remotely via pre-recorded video lectures. Regular tutorials have also been scheduled for professors to interact with students real-time via an internet link. Although remote teaching started out as a response to the emergency situation caused by the global pandemic, the university has gradually been able to build a large volume of e-courses for PUST students and local faculty. This opportunity, though borne
out of a crisis, will hopefully help students develop more
autonomous learning skills and become lifelong learners.

Recently, one of our PUST professors was invited as a guest lecturer at two of the DPRK's most prestigious universities, Kim Il-sung University and Kim Chaek University. It was the first time a professor from PUST has been invited to these universities and was quite an honor. Celebrate with us that PUST is now being recognized among others in the country as a quality institution in the DPRK.
