What do you guys think, should we go live?
We are thrilled to have The Chapmans returning to the Darrington Bluegrass Festival this summer! The Chapmans are a family band from The Ozarks in Missouri with contemporary bluegrass, Americana, and acoustic country roots. Together now for over 30 years and with fans such as Rhonda Vincent and Chris Thile, brothers John, Jeremy, and Jason, and dad Bill possess “an abundance of major league talent” (Nashville Scene). They now run a very successful music store called The Acoustic Shoppe in Springfield, MO. They have been a fan favorite for many years and we are tickled to have them back! Come join us and our fabulous lineup of bands on July 15th, 16th & 17th, 2022! More info at www.darringtonbluegrass.com.

Our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of our loving and beautiful mother Patti Chapman last night at 8:45. We held her hand as she took her last breath and her suffering came to an end. Please keep our family especially dad in your prayers as we come to terms with this new phase of our lives without one of the most selfless, caring and sweetest persons that we've ever known in it.
Love you mom, thank you for everything you've done for us all. Life will never be the same, but you helped to shape who we are and we will carry that with us every day. -John, Jeremy, Jason
We want to give everyone an update on our mom Patti Chapman. As many of you know she was diagnosed with inoperable stage 4 colon cancer in Dec of 2019 and has undergone non-stop treatments with a number of different cancer-fighting drugs to keep the tumor at bay. She has been one of the strongest people we’ve ever seen as the drugs that are fighting the cancer also take their toll on her strength, appetite, and energy, but she keeps fighting. Though the Covid outbreak made it difficult to do many of the things we wished to do as a family, we’ve made sure to make the most of time as we’ve been given together.
Unfortunately, last Friday evening we received the news we’ve been dreading after she went into the emergency room with very low blood levels. The tumor has perforated her colon and her surgeon and oncologist both agreed that there was nothing more that they could do and we should contact hospice. After spending a couple nights in the hospital to get her strength up, we got her home where all of her sons, daughters in law, and grandkids, could be around her without visitor limits. We have been taking advantage of every moment with the understanding that it could be days or weeks that we have left with her. We ask for your prayers for our family, but especially for our mom as she keeps fighting to stay with us as long as she can, and for our dad, as he confronts the reality of losing the wife he has loved for the last 48 years.
Any words of love and encouragement that you wish to send to our mom can be posted here where she will see them or on her account www.facebook.com/patti.chapman.18 . This is going to be a very difficult time for our family, but it helps knowing we have such a great support group who is there for us. A special thanks to our incredible staff for picking up the slack at the shop as we struggle as business owners to take care of our personal family while still being responsible for our business family who relies on us.
Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.” John 11:25

Music Can't Be Quarantined "Virtual" Concert Series Featuring: The Rage
We are very excited to have some great friends of ours, and incredible musicians, The Rage with us tonight. They came by the Shoppe to be a part of our live stream series while they are currently in Branson performing with Rhonda Vincent at her Christmas in Branson event which runs Nov 10 - Dec 20 at the Andy Williams Theater. Each one of these artists have been full-time performing musicians for most of their lives, and as such, they were really hit hard by the pandemic.
Live performance venues will not return to their pre-covid status for a long while, so the best way we have found to help support these great musicians who have dedicated so much of their lives to their craft, is by hosting these virtual concerts where viewers worldwide can experience their music in the comfort of their your homes, and “tip” by donating anything you can spare...
You can show Southern Raised your appreciation by donating to their tip jar here:

Also don’t miss your chance to see Rhonda Vincents Christmas in Branson while they’re here.

Jason & Kimberly shared and update on their new baby boy Benjamin. We can't wait to finally meet him and show him the ropes here at The Shoppe:
This picture was right before Cox South made the decision to transfer us to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in STL on Wednesday. Little man got his very first helicopter ride. We are getting settled in STL and Benjamin has a fantastic team working with him and evaluating all of his needs. We now have an official diagnosis of Pierre Robin Sequence along with cleft palate causing a recessive chin and tongue. The main concern at this time is keeping this tongue forward and not allowing it to fall back into his throat. He is working on keeping oxygen levels within a safe range as well as working on eating enough with out a feeding tube. The plan for the next few days is to monitor and see what he can show he can do and then determine what treatment he will need. There are a variety of possible treatments for the chin and tongue now, but the cleft repair will not happen until he is 9-12 months old.
We appreciate all your thoughts and prayers! We know this is where he needs to be in order to get strong enough to take home and meet his brothers!
