Gifting Wellness...
Dragonfly Delivery provides pre-designed and custom gift boxes to teach and encourage self-care practices that can help during times of transition, recovery, and growth. Each package is meticulously curated and age-appropriate with the goal of building awareness about the importance and benefits in fostering one’s own natural and nurturing self-care routine with products that are paraben and toxin-free. Because giving is at the core of our mission, we donate 10% of all proceeds to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
The concept for Dragonfly Delivery was inspired by the personal experiences of identical twin sisters Laura Etre and Kristen Zabbo, each having developed endometriosis at a young age. This development resulted in Laura’s eventual infertility and later catamenial pneumothorax, a rare diagnosis occurring when endometrial implants develop on the lungs and cause the lung to collapse with each menstrual cycle. And while she was able to get this under control, Laura was set back again with the diagnosis of breast cancer and treated at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
While each new diagnosis took a physical and emotional toll, she was fortunate to have her mother and identical twin by her side to offer the guidance, support, and tools to ensure she stayed focused on her own self-care. It became Laura's priority to nurture her healing body using all natural products that were paraben and toxin-free. Through chemotherapy, radiation, multiple surgeries, and a year of Herceptin infusions, her self-care routine provided the coping mechanisms and resilience she needed to get through and to handle whatever life decided to throw her way.
Throughout treatment and recovery, Laura became an example of courage, determination, and transformation to those around her, and many sought her advice on what they could offer a friend who was recently diagnosed. But the gifts she received from family members were hand curated and took time to individually source from various websites and shops. There were no safe, affirming, pre-packaged gift boxes on the market to support women during times of recovery or transition. So Laura and Kristen gradually began to realize that there was a real need for a gifting alternative that could provide the lessons and encouragement of healthy habits that might last a lifetime.
