gemini
my birth month of June
has cursed me with two bodies;
the first of flesh displayed like
marble carvings display, etched
effortlessly by an unknown hand
for the viewing pleasure of
thirsted bureaucrats.
the second of mist, fizzing
in and out of huffs, gasoline
stench dripping like dew down
from my nostrils
on to my parted lips.
i am unreliable.
one moment nirvana,
clouded gaze serving honey
to men on chaise
lounge chairs;
the next? bleeding
gashes scream agony
and i am ripped
from the flesh.

It gives students a chance to showcase their work, learn the submission process, and volunteer to gain valuable experience working on a professional literary journal. A big part of that experience is the support we get from other students, faculty, staff, and even friends and family.

Infinity
by Maria Elizabeth Burns
Did you know? That
Like the wind through outstretched fingers
The reasons to be are the
Reasons you, we…
I mean to say
The way you laugh sends cherry blossoms
A-shiv-vv-ver like turning pages
My dearest—
Consider the mundane madness
Inherent in breathing.
Consider that all of us are here
To translate the unknown
Into bite-sized pieces.
Consider that when we touch
We are music in motion
Smiling through the moments we shimmer past
As
we choose what to keep.
