A classic aluminum dental phantom with a set of complete vintage teeth set. The teeth are removable via small screws underneath and on top of the set. The head was used in a dental school for training and simulated a patient —the teeth were handed in to grade specific procedures. Comes with steel display stand as shown.

Alex McCool was a big part or NASA and was instrumental in getting Saturn V rockets launched in the first big steps to get to the moon. Throughout his career as Manager of Space Shuttle Projects he was awarded many honors. This particular award was acquired from his estate directly from his grandson. His grandson said this special award was given by NASA as a ‘pat yourself on the back’ award for outstanding achievement.

The custom made award which consists of a glove attached to a pole allowed one to ‘pat’ the back. This was in McCool’s collection until his death. The award would look nicely mounted on the wall with a broom hanger clip for quick release to pat the back—truly a one of a kind piece. The award also comes with a letter of authenticity written by Alex McCool’s grandson Daniel Cooper.

Below is an excerpt from Wikipedia about Mr. McCool

“Alexander A. McCool Jr. was manager of the Space Shuttle Projects Office at the NASA George C. Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. During his career, McCool contributed to several space developments including the Apollo Program, Skylab and the Space Shuttle program…”

Vintage crash test manikin head of a youth passenger. This piece is a very thick rubber skin that goes over the robotic frame and is used to measures impact of passengers and other data during car testing. Acquired from a retired employee where they manufactured these manikins—if you look closely you can see the well wishes written on the head as a parting goodbye gift.

Head is the size of a small child’s head and comes with display stand.

After several years of waiting I managed to get a nice collection of rare Galeski prosthetic eyes. The eyes come in different colors and this aluminum prosthetic display has blue, greenish, and some bloodshot eyes in various states of production. Galeski was responsible for producing eye prosthetics here in America in the 1940’s. Prior to that we relied on the Germans for prosthetic eyes. Needless to say Dr. Galeski is an innovator and it is quite rare to get a selection of these historical eyes. These eyes come inside an aluminum box with eye openings. The box can be displayed on a table top or has a small hole for wall handing. Measures: 10” H x 6” W x 1” D

Iconic photograph of Buddhist monk Quang Duc set himself on fire as a sign of protest. A very powerful image that I have been looking for for quite sometime. Very difficult to acquire and the photographer never sold these as prints. Very curious since this piece won the Pulitzer prize --even Eddie Adams reluctantly made a limited edition for his family in his 80's of his famous ex*****on photo (we also have that photo available). This original press photo was printed in 1975 and was used to run a story for a newspaper. The connection to the image and the news is an important aspect of this piece and in my opinion the purer way to tie the image to history. Piece is on photo paper with some aging mostly noted on the back and is otherwise in very good condition. Measures: 8" x 11"

A very early Self Contained Atmospheric Protection Ensemble or (SCAPE) helmet from The Martin Company. The Martin Company operated from 1957-1961 until it merged to become what is now Martin Marietta.

Martin Co working on aerospace and defense dates this helmet to the early Apollo era and was acquired in Cape Canaveral Florida so it is pretty likely was used in early NASA rocket development.

The helmet is tagged and serial numbered on the inside via a Martin Label. The helmet has been heavily used and has scuffs and a crack noted in the back that is stable and also a divit on the top of the piece. The back is initialed MR and has a stenciled number 58 on the sides.

I have carried SCAPE suits and RFCO suits in the past and this is definitely the oldest helmet of this type I have gotten so far.

Comes with cantilevered raw steel stand as pictured —hangs on the top helmet hook — these suites used to be stored in this way after use.

Impossible to find RFCO Helmet from a Titan II Propellant Transfer Operations Team member. This helmet is marked Serial Number S/N 0014 394th. If you watched the famous documentary ‘Command and Control’ you can see that these suits are constantly worn by the team when fueling the Titan II missile. Additional photos featuring crew wearing RFCO and a helmet display are posted from the Air Force Museum along with an informative video below showing the process. Comes with custom raw steel stand as shown.

‘…Air Force Propellant Transfer System technicians wore suits like this in the 1960s-1980s. The vapor-proof rubber suit was fire-resistant and completely enclosed the body when worn with a helmet, gloves, and boots. The patches were repairs to keep the suit airtight.

The helmet contained a voice-operated two-way radio system with earphones and a microphone. The RFHCO also enclosed an oxygen-nitrogen breathing unit giving the wearer just under two hours' time in the suit. The suit had small ventilation ducts in the arms, legs, back, and neck to keep the wearer comfortable and to distribute oxygen.

The suit weighed about 17 lbs, and the breathing unit weighed 35 lbs. Technicians spent about a year learning how to operate the RFHCO suit and other equipment. After working with fuel or oxidizer, they showered in the suits to wash off any residual propellants, then carefully removed, cleaned, and stored their suits.’

The Medtronic 5880A was the next model to come after the Medtronic 5800-Bakken named his device the Medtronic 5800 because it was created in 1958. This external pacemaker was originally intended to treat short term heart rate irregularities which sometimes occurred after open heart surgery.

This device is most likely from the 1970’s and shortly after discontinued due to interference the device would get if touched with bare hands on certain parts of the pacemaker.

The pacemaker is a simple rectangular white plastic box with two metal handles on each side for attachment to the patient with straps. It is powered by two transistors and a battery. A clear plastic cover protects the two dials (heart rate and the electrical output) recessed into the box and a tiny blinking red light which indicated the device was working. At the top of the pacemaker are two terminals. A wire attached to a terminal was then inserted through the skin and threaded into the heart. The wire sends pluses of electricity to a heart which cannot beat fast enough to pump blood through the body.

The Medtronic is a great addition to any engineers design library or any institution building a comprehensive timeline in heart device evolution

Framed large double galaxy in a silver acrylic wash on heavy drawing paper. The print has two unique prints positive and negative that were old large ortho films (very old copy camera process) and used to make the stencil. The result is a loose chance result yet has a fresh calming presence.

The piece is framed in a charcoal gray deep wood frame set in 1.5” deep to frame to give it a shadow box effect.

Measures: 45” x 68” framed -signed in pencil in lower right

This classic moon image of the visible side of the moon was one of the first images made for Agent Gallery that really took off and in the beginning was all we were making for years. Initially it started out when I looked at an old astronomy book and saw a tiny German graphic of the moon. I thought why isn’t there a poster of this simple iconic image? So I made it because it wasn’t available and it here we are 12 years later. Some customers were requesting a super size of it so here it is 45” x 60”

Below is a general overview of the process:

The Moon is made with a large film negative on a massive custom sheet of Arches French watercolor paper (the best available 100% cotton paper) . The sheet is then carefully coated to ensure an even consistent color, dried and exposed under UV light causing the reaction to change the oxide solution into a deep blue. The cyanotype process is an old photographic process that predates silver based photography and was used with great effect on the field to document plant specimens . There is something alluring and calming with this color blue that it will add a beautiful calming touch to your environment.

As you have seen we have an xtra large Saturn cyanotype listed and the Saturn itself is rather large and the paper we are printing on is 62” +. I decided to make a slightly smaller Saturn but it is still pretty large, yet can accommodate different formats and about 10” smaller than the xtra large. Here it is and this particular one is 44.5” x 53”

This medical office chart depicting spine and nerves from 1914 has been through quite a lot. The graphics are great and it is printed with a gloss overprint so the piece has a nice sheen and makes the blacks and colors pop a bit more. It’s been lovingly displayed over and over the last 100 + years and as you can see it has heavy signs of use and some taping in the back to stabilize the tears. I was considering linen backing the piece but it has a nice look untouched —so framing is a good option to display this weather piece. It also looks just as good pinned up as-is. The bottom retains the original wood hanger rod and the top is missing one so I just added a few art tape tabs to pin it up for display. It’s missing some parts in the upper left of chart—still looks great. Measures: 27” x 42”

I just got in a selection of vintage dental phantoms from a dental school. The heads are made of aluminum and coated with an off white protective coating to avoid oxidation during wet work. Sometimes I’ll bring these down to the metal and polish the heads to a chrome finish, but they also look great with the medical white finish. Priced per head
