If there is a single thing I’ve learned in 30 years of practice it’s that a mother’s intuition is most always the best guide for making decisions about her child. We daddies can often get close but a mother’s intuition is frighteningly trustworthy and reliable, although combining both parent’s intuition can be an extraordinary resource. My advice is to think about what professionals say but take it with a grain or two of salt, and ultimately do what feels like the right thing to do. Don’t overthink it (thinking is overrated) and follow your gut.
