The last round always brings mixed emotions, the highs reflecting on the seasons achievements, the anticipation for the weekends last set of results and any unexpected turn of events that throws itself into the mix. Friday’s qualifying put Christian Smith 3rd fastest but unfortunately due to wet set up issues had Kieran Smith down in 16th. Christian came home in 3rd Heat Race 1, Kieran 6th in Heat Race 2. Sundays Main event had Christian crossing the line in 4th after a number of laps hunting down M88on J in 3rd place. Kieran sadly encountered a technical problem lap 5 dropping from his 10th place spot down to 39th, showing true grit he fought back for the remaining laps and was able to claw back 10 places finishing finally in 29th. with Kieran Smith and some of the BMWf900r crew. 3rd in his first race today, next up will be the “Allcomers and 600” race up against his dad…..what could go wrong 🙈

Saturdays Heat Race 1 saw a consistently solid ride from Christian Smith holding 3rd place from start to finish. The change in the weather created a flurry of activity for Heat Race 2 before everyone settled on a tyre choice. Kieran Smith took the holeshot and maintained for race distance taking 1st place. The draw for Sundays main event grid has Christian 4th and Kieran 5th, alongside Mike Smith 6th (no relation)….

Thruxton what a weekend! Kieran Smith FP1 3rd, FP2 6th and Quali 2nd. Fantastic race long dice with Nicky Coates in Heat Race 2 finishing 2nd and the Main Event saw a 5 way battle and bringing it home in 5th. Christian Smith FP1 7th, FP2 7th and Quali 7th. Heat Race 1 saw a lot of place swapping in the top 4 finally coming home in 4th. Unfortunately the Main Event didn’t go to plan and would like to extend once again our apologies to M88on J for the incident that caused his DNF. Cadwell is next in couple of weeks time!
