𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞! UP Cabatuananon officers served as guest lecturers for ‘𝙀𝙍𝙀: 𝘼 𝙈𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙡 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚 𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨’, a two-day leadership program for aspiring leaders of the Municipality of Cabatuan on January 27-28, 2024.

Equipped with experience, the speakers shared their knowledge in time management, leadership, and serving as student leaders. Officers also assisted the team building activities such as blindfolded game, silent leadership game, and jump game.

As student leaders, set a standard for ERE. Empowerment. Responsibility. Excellence.

Nagkakaisang Pahayag Para sa Pandaigdigang Araw ng Kababaihang Anakpawis!

Labanan ang Abuso! Abante, Babae!

Ang selebrasyon ng Pandaigdigang Araw ng mga Kababaihang Anakpawis ay nagsimula noong 1908 sa New York nang magprotesta ang mga kababaihang manggagawa para sa tamang pasahod at makatarungang oras ng pagtatrabaho. Sa sumunod na taon, ginunita ang Marso 8 bilang araw ng mga kababaihang anakpawis na pinatatampok ang karapatan ng mga kababaihan na makaboto at makapagtrabaho nang maayos, sa pangunguna ni Clara Zetkin.

Sa Soviet Russia, maraming tagumpay ang nakamit ng mga kababaihan para sa pagsulong ng kanilang mga karapatan. Dahil dito, maraming mga bansa na rin ang ipinagdiriwang ang Marso 8 bilang Pandaigdigang Araw ng mga Kababaihang Anakpawis.

Bagama’t maraming tagumpay ang nakamit ng mga kababaihan, alangan pa rin ang mga bansa tulad ng US na gunitain ito dala ng pagkakatali sa Soviet Russia at sosyalismo. Taong 1977 idineklara ng United Nations General Assembly ang Marso 8 bilang Pandaigdigang Araw ng Kababaihan.

Bagama’t marami nang labang napagtagumpayan ang mga kakabaihang anakpawis, laganap pa rin ang pang-aabuso at opresyon sa loob at labas man ng kanilang mga tahanan. Mas lalo pa itong lumala sa mahigit anim na taong panunungkulan ni Duterte, kung saan tila nanormalisa na ang kultura ng impyunidad at macho-pyudal na sistema na patuloy na inaalipusta ang karapatan ng mga kababaihan at pinatatahimik ang boses nito.

Kasabay ng ating pakikibaka para sa tunay na pagkakapantay-pantay ng lipunan ay ang pagpigil sa muling panunumbalik ng tambalang Marcos-Duterte na silang pahirap sa mga kababaihang Pilipino at salot sa lipunan. Buhay at kabuhayan ang nakataya para sa ating mga kababaihang anakpawis kung maluklok man sa pwesto sina Marcos Jr. at Sara Duterte na parehong anak ng mga berdugo at magnanakaw. Kaya naman, ngayon ay mas higit nating kailangan ang sama-samang lakas para puksain ang dalawang pamilya ng diktador at singilin sila sa kanilang mga krimen laban sa masang anakpawis. Sa pagpapabagsak sa tiraniya, maipaglalaban ang kabuhayan, kalusugan, at karapatan!

Sa kabila ng mga pahirap at macho-pasistang pamamalakad ni Duterte sa kaniyang anim na taon, buong puso at militanteng nakikibaka ang kababaihang anakpawis. Kahit na patuloy ang pagtaas ng presyo ng bilihin at langis, ang banta ng demolisyon sa mga maralitang lungsod, ang kakulangan sa serbisyo at ayuda, at ang banta sa kanilang karapatan at kalusugan. Hindi napapawi ang diwa ng pakikibaka sa mga kababaihan. Ating tandaan na ang tunay na kalayaan ng kasarian ay makakamit lamang sa paglaya ng uri.

Hinaharap ng bansa ang magkakapatong na hirap dulot ng pandemya, hamong pang-ekonomiya, at kabi-kabilang pandarahas at diskriminasyon—lahat ay siyang pinaiigting ng palpak at macho-pasistang administrasyong Duterte. Ngayon tayo higit na dapat tumindig at sikaping parisan ang tapang at ubos-kayang pakikibaka ng kababaihang anakpawis. Palawakin ang hanay ng pwersang magsusulong ng karapatan, kabuhayan, at kalusugan ng kababaihan! Magkasama nating pagtagumpayan ang laban tungo sa ganap na paglaya ng uri at kasarian!
