Oldest olive tree in the world in Greece at 3,500 years old.
The tree is located on the island of Crete and is known as the "Oldest Olive Tree in the World" or the "Elea Olive Tree". It is considered to be a symbol of the island's long history and cultural heritage. The age of the tree has been estimated by counting the number of annual rings on its trunk, and it is believed to have been cultivated by Minoans, an ancient civilization that inhabited the island of Crete from about 2600 to 1100 BC.
Making up four for spring. All will be planted with succulents, but no two will be the same. Message for details.
Making an entrance grand
Before and After shots. A Denver re-do that really took off quickly, thanks to lots of love from the homeowner. Three seating areas, 15 containers and long borders. Seven trees, 11 shrubs, grasses and swaths of perennials.
We made a plan for the back yard, and began by transforming this corner into a shady retreat
One thing I can say about Hopi Dye Amaranth. Once you plant it, you have it for life, for better or for worse. Mix with lots of echinacea and a Russian sage for a wildly natural look. For greater interest add globe thistle and grass (not in this shot).
Plants are my peeps.I just hate it when they reject me. Seriously, this is a fascinating article about how plants share and form communities.
Plants thrive in a complex world by communicating, sharing resources and transforming their environments We may think of plants as passive life forms, but they can cooperate, share resources, send one another warnings, and distance themselves from their communities when survival depends on it.
Today is National Gardening Day! Bundle up and seed some spinach and other cool weather veggies, pot up a profusion of pansies. You can even plant a tree! Just don’t plant all those colorful summer annuals until mid-May. Or message us for help!
St. Patrick’s Day is all about the drinking and wearing of the green. It is also our reminder to plant green peas. St Paddy’s day has come and gone, but the planting of green peas is still in season. After the snow melts and the soil dries, I will plant the peas and follow closely with cool season veggies. Probably this week. With a little help from Tilly.
Time to plan your garden. Are you a little wild, or slightly more contained? We can help you express yourself.
