What Is “”Affirmation Discipline”?
Affirmation Discipline clarifies the work of researchers and theorists from 1713 to 2013. Understanding and respecting typical child development are major themes running through nine concise chapters. This slim textbook is ideal for community college courses on Eduction, Human Development, Psychology, or Social Work. In four-year-colleges and in universities. Affirmation Discipline can be a supplementary textbook in courses on Eduation or Human Development.
Short biographies or prominent researchers and theorists comprise much of this book, but other topics covered include alternate definitions of the word discipline, and a glimpse of past discipline practices. Intrusive and non-intrusive discipline is clarified. The Domains of Development are discussed as a framework for understanding diversity. Children's individual differences are highlighted, including their Temperament and Types of Intelligence. The role that Children's Interests have their schooling, and in their subsequent learning, draws upon my doctoral study. Finally, my textbook suggests ways to celebrate children every day.
