Been having a strange couple days in and out of the studio… couldn’t really get my head back into the right space and had a lot of non art stuff going on. So used this as an exercise to get my art brain thinking and try a different style than normal.

Morning warmup! Time to get into the swing of things today. Alot of the stuff I've been working on I can't really show here...yet. mostly commissions and pages and getting caught up. Wanted to go out and enjoy some life in between work for once. Everyone enjoying the news coming out of SDCC though?

Matt Flint will once again be appearing at Syracuse Collectors Con and will be drawing a show exclusive Variant Cover Comic Book as well as the Cons exclusive t-shirt.

Comics, Anime, Video Games, Music and Movies. All building blocks of inspiration for Matt Flint. Growing up in Hornell, NY, those types of things would trickle in through media outlets, with comics being the most scarce and inaccessible unless you got to a larger city. All of these factored into the arts for Matt, rooted in finer arts techniques, which were then applied to anime stylized drawings and images found through magazines like wizard. Matt created art mainly with the hopes of one day doing something bigger with it.

After relocating to Syracuse, NY, Matt found himself in a new world of access to comics, which he fell in love with all over again. Quickly becoming part of the convention scene, he networked himself out and found opportunities in selling and promoting his brand of artwork to many. This led to some new and exciting opportunities that are taking his art career to new heights. Currently Matt is penciling and inking a Western Fantasy comic, as well as doing some high profile exclusic comic covers and working on his creator owned properties.

We came up with the idea earlier this year and it got crafted into this.. the image, the character, it all fits together perfectly.

We're teaming up with Funky Town Comics & Vinyl to produce an official RGC-exclusive variant comic, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #2!

Celebrating TMNT's 40th anniversary, this 2024 relaunch is written by Jason Aaron. Issue #2 details Michelangelo's solo adventures in Tokyo while battling ninjas and missing his bros.

The officially licensed RGC-exclusive variant cover is brilliantly illustrated (with a retro theme!) by Syracuse-based artist and longtime RGC exhibitor Matt Flint. A rising star in IDW's impressive arsenal of contributing artists, Matt has published not only one, but two covers for Turtles in 2024! The reverse cover features the Funky Town and RGC logos identifying the issue as a sought-after Con-Exclusive limited edition.

I see alot of direct copies of work lately, I urge you all to make sure you're using your references the right way. Here's a couple examples. You're only holding yourself back by directly copying an existing image. Learn from that image, and grow artistically.

Todays post! Vaggie! It took me awhile before I really liked her character, probably once I got her backstory like everyone else. Anyways, she’s awesome and fun to draw.

So, I wasn’t sold on this series until I watched it, but I definitely was sold once I was on episode 2. I loved the character designs, the animation fit well for what the series is, compelling characters. Anyways, Angel Dust in one of the anchors of the show. And has a really big head.
