On August 8, 2023, Lahaina, Maui was devastated by wildfires leaving only the foundations of homes, businesses, and sacred cultural sites. The death toll is over 100 with over 300 still unaccounted for. Over 5,000 people have been displaced and must try to begin their lives again from scratch. As one of the worst wildfire disasters in history, this fire was not alone that day. Hurricane winds fueled several wildfires on Maui that day severely damaging a significant area of our Upcountry neighborhood displacing even more people and leaving the water in the area contaminated. The Maui community came together in the immediate hours after the fire to rescue, support, and feed those affected by the fires but now Maui needs your help.

THE WEDDING CAKE: Keep it simple! First choose a white, chocolate or special cake flavor. Then select a filling like Tahitian Vanilla, White Chocolate Mousse, Coconut, Vanilla or Chocolate Butter Cream, Strawberries, Raspberries, or Lilikoi. Then frost with Buttercream, Ganache, or Rolled Fondant. We highly recommend Buttercream frosting with smooth sides! Top with fresh flowers. A 2-tier round cake feeds up to 15 guests and runs $200 - $250. Square cakes run 20% higher in fees. Consider adding a sheet cake that the caterer cuts and plates behind the scenes for groups of 50 or more.

Is Tipping Customary? Some couples tip their professionals on their wedding day and the amount is never less than $20 each. However, we have seen couples tip several hundreds to even a thousand to those that they appreciate the most. Although tipping is never expected, it's very much appreciated. If you feel inclined to do so then it's helpful to write cards out in advance and give them to a trusted family member to hand out at the end of the ceremony.

It's important to choose one or the other and stick to it. Trust them and don't sneak behind their back to try and get a better deal. If you choose a wedding planner first then you will have preferred status as long as you haven't spoke to anyone else. Reason being is because wedding planners make their living on commissions so if you talk or secure any services on your own then you are ultimately cutting up their pay which isn't good so choose wisely from the beginning and trust your choice.

This is a custom built arch made out of redwood. It stands about 7' tall and is 8' wide and is secured with railroad ties pounded into the ground and secured with zip ties. This three piece beauty cost $800 to make and that doesn't include delivery, set up or removal and the flowers are extra.

Plumeria blossoms smell like no other plant in the world and are an easy way to line a pathway or isle without breaking the bank. Available in warm regions & seasons the species come with mostly yellow or pink throats. In the Hawaiian culture, the Plumeria symbolizes positivity. The blossoms keep better than most and you can order them for about $.08 cents per blossom when in season. This is by far one of our most favorite flowers to include at weddings.
