A little PSA.
This is one of my back up batteries that I use for my cell phone.
You know I’m always on my phone.
I charge it twice a day🤦‍♀️
I noticed that my phone was getting low and I was sitting on my porch, so I decided to grab one of my back up batteries.

This was not plugged in and charging.

The battery was so swollen that it cracked the case.
After seeing this I’m not letting any of these things back into my house, because I think this is just a fire waiting to happen.
Scared the 💩out of me !

Who knows my Nephew George Simpson?

George is a former Wurtsboro resident, with strong family ties to our beautiful village.

Many May remember him as the waiter and Front end guy in his mom ,Kathy Quick Mitchell’s restaurant , Kathy’s Tea Kozy.

George was also a long time volunteer with the Mamakating Ambulance squad.

One month ago we were all shocked to learn that this always very healthy 43 year old has stage 4 Non Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Our entire family is devastated😩
 George is receiving treatment in the state of Florida where he and his mother now reside.

George can’t work as he is spending one week out of every three in the hospital for chemotherapy treatments.
This is for an indefinite amount of time because we really don’t know what will happen at this point.

I will be holding a fundraiser on my page for the next two weeks, and in my Chic Shed boutique this Saturday from 12 to 3.

A portion of all of my sales will be donated to George and matched by the Lularoe company.

This one is an extremely hard one.
Meet my nephew George Simpson 💚
My sister Kathy Quick Mitchell’s son.

In the midst of last months hurricane in Florida, George experienced terrible back pain and went to the emergency room.

The doctors there immediately knew something was terribly wrong.
A few tests quickly revealed that George had tumors causing the pain, but they really couldn’t do much testing because of the fear of losing power during this crazy hurricane.

A few days later George got his PET scan, which quickly revealed that unfortunately he has stage four non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
What a shock!

He was working and going to school every day in this condition.

This is a 43-year-old young man who is his mothers whole world.

George began chemotherapy immediately, within one week of his diagnosis he was in the hospital being treated.

This cancer has even invaded his spinal cord.

Many locals among you know George as former waiter at my sister Kathy’s restaurant here in Wurtsboro ,Kathy’s tea cozy.

George has also volunteered tirelessly on the Mamakating volunteer ambulance corps for years.
After moving to Florida three years ago he and my sister made the perfect team.

My sister is disabled, and George was the worker bee who took care of everything.

Additionally George had started attending a program where he has become a certified Medical assistant in the state of Florida.
He actually graduated three days after his initial visit to the hospital where he spent a week having chemo.

Lake many Americans Kathi and George live paycheck to paycheck.
They were immediately in danger of losing the car, that they need to get George to medical treatments.

His schedule of treatments are going to be one week in the hospital for chemo, then 2 weeks home.
This will continue through March.
And hopefully then George will be cured or at least in some form of remission.
Doctors are optimistic.
And George’s attitude is let’s just do this and kick this stuff‘s ass!

This fundraiser is for George.

A portion of mine and six other retailers from around the country who have joined me will be donated and matched by the Lularoe company.

I hope that I can at least raise enough to help them pay their car payments or some thing so they can get through this.
This fundraiser will run for the next two weeks.
