Under Water Nuclear Test 😰 (it went bad) ⠀⠀ In 1946 the u.s military set off a nuke underwater to see what would happen and it went very badly. You see the navy was trying to prove that their ships could survive a nuclear explosion so they lowered the bomb 90 feet in the water and put their ships over it the lsm-60 as seen in the video was right above the bomb and it was completely pulverized. Extreme radiation destroyed the remaining ships and they sank right away. ⠀⠀ When a nuke is set off on land, the radioactive particles are spread and diluted over great distances in a cloud. ⠀⠀ But in this instance, it was contained in the water, which resulted in a radioactive rainfall that got all over the surviving ships. Afterward, the Navy attempted to scrub these ships clean to prove that their ships could survive the explosion, but the men who worked on them started to get sick from the radiation. ⠀⠀ It was determined that they would have needed to grind these ships down to almost nothing before they were at a safe radiation level. ⠀⠀ 💬Note: The Navel ships destroyed were retired from the service and 60 Kms of the area near the nuclear test site was abandoned for a public visit during the 40s to 90s.

Here’s What Really Happens When You Flush a Toilet Using lasers and cameras, scientists visualized the plume of tiny, aerosolized particles ejected from commercial toilets during flushing. With the press of a handle and a powerful whoosh of water, toilets send waste far away from humans and down into the sewer system. But new research shows—in surprising detail—just how much waste they also spew into the air, potentially spreading contagious diseases in the process. Scientists have known for decades that, when flushed, toilets expel small particles of water, urine, feces and, at times, dangerous pathogens that are invisible to the naked eye. But researchers haven’t been able to see the airborne particles, nor understand how and where they spread.

Spectators in Dubai got a taste of what the future of transportation could look like. The Xpeng X2 took to the Emirati skies for a 90-minute test flight. According to the company, it only weighs 794 lbs, and its 8 propellers give it a top speed of 81 mph. A zero-emission, battery-powered flying car sounds really good in the age of soaring gas prices, but there simply isn’t an international infrastructure in place for cars that drive anywhere but on the ground.
