Police Departments all around are reporting an observance of an increase in online and phone scams targeting our communities. Scammers are using tactics like the Microsoft scam, IRS Tax scam, Social Security/Medicare scam, and Law Enforcement scam to trick people into giving them money or personal information.
Here’s how they do it:
1. They ask for payments via prepaid cards (like Green Dot or Apple Pay) or Bitcoin deposits.
2. After you make a payment, they steal your money using the information you provided.
How to Protect Yourself:
1. Never give out financial or personal information over the phone or internet unless you can verify the person’s identity.
2. Don’t trust unsolicited calls. Always verify by contacting your bank or service provider directly using official contact details.
3. Stay informed. Check for recent scam alerts by visiting IRS.gov, FBI.gov, identitytheft.gov, or secretservice.gov.
Stay safe and protect your information! If you suspect a scam, contact your local Police Department immediately.

Do you know a child in need of no-cost, healthy meals this summer? Through July 31, Katy ISD's Summer Meal Program provides breakfast and/or lunch at no cost for kids 18 and younger at select Katy ISD schools. Remember, all meals must be enjoyed on-site!

The City of Katy Water Department will be doing hydrant flushing throughout the City Monday, May 6th, and will continue through Tuesday, May 7th.

It’s important to know that residents in the immediate vicinity of hydrant flushing may experience temporary discoloration of their water. The discoloration is harmless and does not affect the safety of the water. Residents are cautioned to determine if the water is clear before doing laundry as staining may occur.

If you experience discoloration in your water after hydrant flushing in your neighborhood, clear the pipes in your home by running all interior and exterior water faucets for a few minutes.
