Tushar Mtn ATV Club
The Tushar Mountain ATV Club, Beaver UT was started in 2009 by a group of ATV riders that wanted to share their love of riding Utah trails. Come join us!
What are you doing for the fall colors? Registration is open for the Beaver County Trails ATV Jamboree , so don't delay!
What do you get when you mix Brody, Fred, and Phil together and stir slowly? You get TWO rides this coming weekend!
The two Paiute Rides are being run this weekend, Friday, July 5th, and Saturday, July 6th, departing from two different locations and covering two different sections of the Paiute trail. You can ride on both days, or just one. But the guides would like to know one way or the other.
So check out the attached flyer and let Brody know if you have any questions.
Here it is! Information on the Beaver County ATV Jamboree 2024! Capacity is limited so don't wait - register today!
Phil wants to do another Wanderide, but this time it's out in western Beaver County and the Mineral Mountains on Saturday, June 22nd. See the flyer for more details.

A big thanks to Chris More for guiding a great ride on May 11th to Poverty Point. Looks like a wonderful time with amazing scenery for those that rode, and those that didn’t make it missed out.
Howdy All,
Chris More is guiding a trailered ride to Poverty Point on Saturday, May 11th. The caravan will depart the Beaver Main Street Trailhead at 8:00 AM sharp, so please be about 15 minutes early. The convoy will proceed down Hwy 89, making a quick stop at the rest stop north of Panguitch. From there, the caravan will travel to the trailhead on Hwy 9 west of Mt. Carmel Junction.
For more information, please see the flyer below.
Phil's tired of winter and is going to force spring to pop-out by hosting and guiding another classic Phil's Wanderide, this Saturday, Apr. 20th.
The ride will leave from the Beaver Main Street Trailhead (Main and 600N) at 9:00 AM sharp, and will wander around various trail sections in south Beaver County and north Iron County.
There are many more details, so check out the flyer below.
Phil wants to host another ride, so he talked Gary Tarbet into guiding a ride around the Gooseberry Mesa on Friday, March 29, 2024. This is an intermediate trailered ride open to all size vehicles. We will be departing from Beaver and travel to the Apple Valley Chevron to meet our guide (Gary).
Please see the flyer for more details and information.
Looks like we're going to have great weather this weekend, so the Beaver Dam and Joshua Tree ride is a GO for this Saturday, Feb 24th! Check the flyer for details.
We've had a date change for the Beaver Dam/Joshua Tree Forest Ride! The new date is Saturday, Feb. 24th. All other ride details remain the same.
We have scheduled a trailered ride around Beaver Dam and Littlefield, Arizona, through the Joshua Tree Forest. Brody Johnson and Vern are guiding this ride. We depart as a group at 7:30 AM from the I-15 Rest Stop 12 miles south of Cedar City . You can also meet at the new TA Truck Stop (Exit 8; about a mile south of the Eagles Landing Travel Plaza). There is a big parking lot beside the TA where we will unload. This is an INTERMEDIATE ride and is open to ALL ATV/UTV vehicles. Since we’ll be riding in Arizona, you will need an Arizona OHV tag. These can be purchased online at ohv.azgfd.com. Because it may take a while for the sticker to be mailed, the receipt will suffice for the ride. Be sure to dress for unpredictable desert weather and bring lunch and snacks. (We will reschedule for Feb. 24th if the weather is poor on the 17th.) Please see the flyer below for additional details.
If you have any further questions, contact Phil, or leave a comment below.
Phil wants to squeeze in another ride before the end of the season, and what better day for an old Marine to ride than on Veteran's Day, Saturday, Nov. 11?
The ride will leave from the Beaver Main Street Trailhead at 9:00 AM sharp, and will wander around various trail sections in south Beaver County and north Iron County. (Thus the name, "Phil's Wanderide"... get it?")
Anywho... there are many more details, so check out the flyer below.
For those of you who are interested in staying abreast of governmental actions that may impact your ATV recreational activities, here's a news item that may be of interest to you.

Jamboree Guide Appreciation BBQ. A huge thanks to our wonderful volunteer guides from St George, Cedar City, Sevier Valley & Panguitch in addition to the Tushar Mountain ATV Club members. Also thanks to Kelly for hosting in her beautiful yard.
**** TOMORROW'S RIDE IS CANCELLED ****
As much as I didn't want to do this, we have to CANCEL the club ride - New Old Car ride - for tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 19th. The recent down-pours in the area have made a couple of the crossings dangerous, and the forecast is for more heavy rain tomorrow while we're on the trail.
Keep an eye out for future club ride announcements.
CHANGE to Saturday's ride - New Old Car
I need to make a change to the New Old Car ride details. Because of the Firefighter Camp at the City Complex, we need to meet at the Club Trailhead at 9:00 AM. The Club Trailhead is located at the corner of 600N and Main in Beaver.
Also, the weather may cause us to cancel, so keep an eye on this page. I will make the call Friday afternoon/evening.
Has the Beaver County Jamboree whetted your whistle for yet another ride? Have you been waiting all year for a club ride to finally work its way past the Jamboree pre-rides? Well, your dreams have come true!
Phil Bostrom is guiding a ride for the Garfield Rough Riders ATV Club, and members of our club have been invited to come along. The ride is the Frisco Peak ride, but with a few changes to make it slightly wider (66" max) and slightly shorter (about 30 miles - but make sure you top off the fuel in your ATV!).
This is a TRAILERED RIDE, and interested participants should meet at the Beaver Main Street Trailhead (600N and Main) at 9:00 AM on Saturday, July 15th. The trip to the trailhead and back is about 90 roundtrip, so be sure your tow vehicle has enough fuel.
Plan for a full day of beautiful scenery. Bring lunch, plenty of water, and dress for the weather.
Have fun,
Ashley
In case you haven’t heard, because of the excessive snow this last winter, the Beaver County ATV Jamboree has been rescheduled until July 11th to July 14th. We think that we shouldn’t have any problems with snow closures at that point. (Keep your fingers crossed!)
Riding season is getting close, and we know EVERYONE is itchin' to get out on the trails. But while you're waiting, remember that this is the perfect time to do that off-season maintenance that you've been putting off. Doing the work now will mean a safer riding season ahead. You can take your machine to your favorite ATV shop for the work, or, if you prefer to do it yourself, here are some items to consider:
1. Tires - check for wear and proper inflation. The cold winter months almost guarantee that the air pressure has dropped too low. And if you have worn tires, now's the time to replace them!
2. Engine oil - Can't remember when you changed the oil last? Engine oil is the lifeblood of your machine. As your oil goes, so does the life of your machine. Change it!
3. Air filter - When was the last time that was changed? At least take it out and use compressed air (and a dust mask) to blow out the dust.
4. Brakes and brake fluid - Check and adjust your brakes. And while you're at it, have you ever changed your brake fluid? (Usually every 5 years is recommended.) Though that task is often better left to certified techs, there are some good tutorials online.
5. Radiator/oil cooler - Check your radiator fluid level. If it hasn't been changed in the last five years, consider changing it. Check the radiator and/or oil cooler for fin damage as well as leaks. If you find the cooling fins bent in, you can "comb them out" with a radiator fin comb, or even a small screw driver.
6. Battery - Here's another item that has probably gone flat during winter storage. Use a good battery charger/cycler to bring it back up to full charge. If it doesn't test properly, replace it NOW! Don't wait for it to leave you stranded on the trail!
7. Other Electrical - Check turn signals, headlights, horns, etc. Replace any that don't function properly.
8. Have a chain? L**e it!
9. Grease suspension and drive train zerk fittings.
Especially pay attention to wheel bearings and U-Joints. And while you're at it, sq**rt some lubricant down the many bowden cables that live in the innards of our machines.
10. Check levels or change differential oil. That's another one of those "when was the last time I changed that?" issues. When in doubt, change it out.
11. Check all nuts and bolts for tightness. Running down rough trails (or even smooth roads) can set up high frequency vibrations that can loosen nuts and bolts. A quick check is easy to do while your performing the other maintenance items.
12. Are you prepared for a breakdown or minor injury? Check your first aid kit, wet weather gear, repair kit, spare parts, etc. And be sure to bring a tow strap just in case you need to tow someone who DIDN'T do their off-season maintenance.
13. Finally, give it a bath! It's always nice to start the new season with a shiny, clean rig.
Only a few more weeks until we're back on the trails! See you out there. Oh... and don't forget your OHV Education Course certificate!
Okay… this was just too good not to share. An electric UTV named, “The Desert Beaver”? Yeah… we had to post this!
