CORRUPTION AND ECONOMIC MISMANAGEMENT IN
NIGERIA.

There would be no development, freedom, growth and
peace in a country when there is a high level of
corruption and economic imbalance. Economic
mismanagement is the collapse and downfall of every
organization, be it religious, social, economical and
political, and this economic mismanagement leads to
stagflation, and corruption is the shortest road to
disunity and underdevelopment.
However, the great hope and expectations that greeted
the return to civil rule in (May- 1999), may not be
unconnected with the desire for an inproved economy
which in turn will guarantee a change in the quality of
live of the populace. Nigeria as a nation state with her
resources and population has been in an unpredictable
quagmire since the long military rule, and her attendant
poverty, hardship and an unprecedented level of
corruption have brought Nigeria to a hopeless and
helpless situation such that the mistake of Gen.
Abdusalami Abubakar transition programme to Civil Rule
were never sources of concern by a Staunch and Prolific
Marxist like me, and the society alike.
No doubt, Nigeria is potentially African largest economy.
Every year, the country produce over 200,000 graduates
of tertiary institutions, including more than 116 Public
and private Universities, has the 6th largest gas
reserves in the world, but lacking security, unity, good
governance, sincerity, love and progress, because I have
meticulously observed that the people's expectations of
a better hope and opportunities have long been dashed
on the ground even before the expiration of the second
term in office of President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Nigerian Politicians are pursuing power in their own
interest, knowing their inability in leadership and
administration, but pretending and denying to accept
their weakness and their corruptible existence on the sit
of governance.
The corruption of Nigerian leaders and politicians in the
control and management of the economy has caused an
alarming increase in the number of wretched and poor
people over the years at an estimated figure of 70
million, in 1980, 28.1 million in 1985, 46.3 million, in
1992, 42.7 million in 1996, and 70 million, in 2004.
Nigeria must go back to the books of our founding
Fathers who conquered the fight and powers of
colonialism and imperialism, which few persons are
benefiting today, before there must be stability, peace,
progress, growth and development, because poverty has
translated into social misdemeanors and high crime rate
by both graduate and unemployed youths.
This act, more than anything else threatened the
survival of democracy in Nigeria.
NIGERIA SHOULD RESHUFFLE HER DEMOCRACY AGAIN.

According to Merriam Webster dictionary, Democracy is
a form of government in which people choose leaders by
voting. OR
An organization or situation in which everyone is treated
equally and has equal rights.
Having defined democracy in this perspectives, and
others like, the government of the general will, or the
government of the people by the people and for the
people, I would be bold to categorically state that
Nigeria case is authoritarianism.
I have politically discovered that, the democracy we are
discussing daily is only found on books and not been
practiced for the benefit and development of all the
citizens and non citizens of the country.
Democracy is a form of government for the growth and
happiness of every living being of the country, but the
reverse is the case in Nigeria context, as it has
otherwise, became a government for the benefit of a few
representatives, and their family alone.
Democracy in Nigeria has been replaced with Oligarchy
for of government, which is a government conducted by
a minority in its own interest alone.
However, Nigeria should change from Democracy to
military rule once again, if she doesn't know what
democracy is, because the democratic government
today which is administered on the ROSTRUM of All
Progressive Congress (APC ), has no written legacy
which I can boldly speak of as a Marxist Scholar, and
also attest to as a Political Scientist.
Nigeria democratic leaders are struggling for who to
take the lion share of the nation's treasury, and who to
privatized, and own all our patrimony, and because of
this, democracy has already been replaced by
CORRUPTION, CONFLICT AND INSECURITY., where by
our leaders are more concerned about what he or she
will achieve in respect of their political positions, and
not what they would contribute or do for the populace.
This is known as having bad or divergent interest or
view not in line with the government common goals. If
the heart or the mindsets of our leaders can be changed
or transformed from practicing "PREBENDALISM" , and
keep on pressing towards the mark of their calling, I
certainly believe and know that there would be
development and growth, because prebendalism is an
element of"ANNIHILATION" to developmental programs
or progress in our nation state Nigeria.
There are various schools of thought on the positive
and negative of democracy, yet there is no favorable
impact in the case of Nigeria. Now what is
incontrovertible in the character of post -cold war
politics is that poor nations that are not "DEMOCRACY
COMPLIANT" may lose relevance in the competitive
nature of internal aids politics and diplomacy.
In Nigeria, before anything is implemented for the
benefit of the masses , everyone has loses hope on who
is going to benefit or not, which is not supposed to be
so, since its a democratic government.
However, the beauty of democracy is observable when
its principles are respected, and the respect can lead to
developmental expanssion in political, social and
economic activities.
Now, my question as, A MARXIST SCHOLAR is, whether
there is a direct or indirect link between democracy and
development.
However, in the Nigerian situation, it is a PARADOX,.
because there seems not to be any remarkable
landmark of development to justify the positive impact
of democracy on the country's developmental calendar
since INDEPENDECE .
The common pain I have as a MARXIST WRITER, is that
Nigeria is a failing, if not a failed Country, the first most
corrupt nation in the world, federation coupled with
injustice and imbalance, a disservice to the BLACK
RACE, and embarrassment to Africa.
THE POLITICS OF THE CAPITALISTS IN NIGERIA: WHY THE CONTINUITY POVERTY.
Capitalism or the Bourgeois political economic ideology, could be define or refers to a system that advocates the freedom of the indivisible hand of demand and supply to determine the price and control of the market.
This school of thought is evil to a very high extent for the following reasons:
(1) it preaches class struggle or class antagonism.
(2) it preached conflict, as it advocates that if you are poor, you should blame yourself, because you failed to compete.
(3) it teaches exploitation, expropriation and stealing.
However, the evils and underdevelopment caused by capitalism can not be overemphasis here in this piece, as there are many other diseases the school of thought possessed.

ALL THE NEW MARXISTS ARE MOST WELCOME , THANKS
The last statement that was made by the Progenitor of Marxism, that's my Grandfather: Karl Marx (1818-1883) was that: there is possible need for the workers of the world to unite for the success of the Revolution that would create peace, hope and an egalitarian society for the workers/proletarians.
Please, my friends and scholars who need development should join this group/platform to liberate our exploitative society, thanks and welcome.
