"Plug- In" to what keeps you and your spirit charged as you begin your week! 🔌

17/08/2024

Dear Alumnae/I Association Members:

Saint Elizabeth University will celebrate 125 years of bringing the vision of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton and Sisters of Charity of St. Elizabeth to New Jersey. The core values of integrity, social responsibility, leadership, and excellence have been a lasting testament to Mother Mary Xavier Mehegan and Sister Mary Pauline Kelligar, who became the first president of the College of St. Elizabeth on September 11, 1899.

In celebration of 125 years, the University will begin with a Day of Service on September 7, 2024. All alumnae/i, friends, and family are invited to participate. Here is how we can be a part of this great event.

Select one of the service opportunities listed below or do one of your own.
Take a photo of your work. Please make sure that you are featured in the photo.
Write a brief reflection of your service experience. Please limit it to 2-4 sentences.
Identify yourself by Name, Class, Major, City and State.
Send your photo and description to Ellie Ancrum Ingbritsen, Ed. D. ‘80 at [email protected]

As part of the Association's mission to foster an ongoing cordial relationship with administration, faculty, and current students let us be a part of the celebration of our beloved St. Elizabeth College & University with gratitude and love.

Kind regards,

Katherine McGlory Karkos - President

Ellie Ancrum Ingbritsen - President-Elect

A devout Roman Catholic, Thomas was named a Knight Commander of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher by Pope Paul VI in recognition of his services to the church and the community. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Parish and the Catholic Motion Picture Guild in Beverly Hills, California.

Write a Soldier

Forgotten Soldiers Outreach has become a nationally recognized organization receiving support from all over the country. We send out monthly “We Care” packages to our United States deployed military, who have been registered by family members, friends, commanding officers or themselves.

Cards of Hope

Many youth in foster care will never receive a birthday card or a note of encouragement. That’s why we launched a program to make sure they know they are remembered and loved. Wherever you live, you can send a card today encouraging youth or thanking the social workers who support them.

Love for Our Elders

Our mission is to alleviate social isolation among older adults through handwritten letters and intergenerational connections.

Girls Love Mail

A hand-written letter has the special power to heal. Girls Love Mail collects your hand-written letters of encouragement, bundles them, and sends them, via the caring staff at cancer centers, to women newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Every letter is a gift from you to a woman going through a difficult time.

Don't leave anything for later.
Later, the coffee gets cold.
Later, you lose interest.
Later, the day turns into night.
Later, people grow up.
Later, people grow old.
Later, life goes by.
Later, you regret not doing something...
When you had the chance.

Life is a fleeting dance, a delicate balance of moments that unfold before us, never to return in quite the same way again.

Regret is a bitter pill to swallow, a weight that bears down upon the soul with the burden of missed chances and unspoken words.

So, let us not leave anything for later. Let us seize the moments as they come, with hearts open and arms outstretched to embrace the possibilities that lie before us. For in the end, it is not the things we did that we regret, but the things we left undone, the words left unspoken, the dreams left unfulfilled.
