Ionista

Greetings!

In trying times such as these we believe it is vital to not only blow off steam but simultaneously actively keep our gears running and be productive.

Ionista, the Chemistry Club of DPS Dwarka, along with Flux , the Physics Club and Genesis, the Biology Club, will be conducting an intra-school competition- IGNITE for classes IX and XI on the 4th and 5th of July. The competition will consist of 3 integrated science events and 1 individual event per club.

We hope to help the participants enjoy and learn from these fun and stimulating events!
Following is a short description of the Ionista event and the integrated events:

CHEMICON
”A picture is a story without words.”
Time Limit- 3 hours
Students will be given a topic based on a concept/phenomenon in chemistry or science in general along with a description of the phenomenon. They will have to create a comic strip related to that concept using paints, colors etc. OR using digital art platforms. Submissions will be made in the form of photographs sent via email. Topics will be disclosed on the day of the event

INTEGRATED EVENTS

WHIZ CRAFT (Jr/Sr)
"Ignorance is temporary affliction, remedied only by asking the right questions."
TEAM EVENT - Up to 2 members
Preliminary round: A classic crossword will be conducted online via google forms. Students will read the clues and type in their answer in a form. Top 6 teams will make it to the final round
Final round: A quiz will be conducted through video call where all participants must have their videos on. The format for the finals will be disclosed on the spot.

COLLOQUIUM
"Arguments aim at finding out who is right. A discussion is to determine what is right."
The Group Discussion encourages the students to brainstorm over prevalent topics and even controversies in the field of Science and express their views.
The event will consist of a preliminary round which will be conducted online via video call. The participants chosen for the final round will compete for the winning position. The format and topics shall be revealed on the spot

This is to inform you that Ionista is organizing intra on 6th August 2018. This year we are having three events, namely:

QUIZ: Unleash your inner genius at the Ionista Quiz. These mentally stimulating questions will put your gears of problem solving into motion.
Eligibility: Junior Quiz (9th class) Senior Quiz (11th class)

ENIGMA: Sherlockian event combining chemistry logic and creative thinking.
Eligibility: 9th and 11th classes

SYMPOSIUM: Let the world know about your ideas and thoughts about the most controversial subjects related to chemistry and prove their correctness and accuracy.
Topics: 9th class (ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMISTRY)
11th class (NANO CHEMISTRY)
