Revision is a Youth Mentoring organization for teens ages 13-18. This organization will focus on 4 core elements. Community Service- It's all about giving back.
Mentoring- We want to capture the attention of teens through mentorship and by demonstrating positive alternatives. The goal is to assist teens in "rewriting" their current vision of their future to a vision of promise, hope, and success. Exposure- To change your way of thinking, you must be open to new ideas (i.e., taking trips, getting an experience of college life, museums, positive alternativ
es to negative behavior, career choices, etc.) We will expose teens to various places, people and activites for them to gain a better understanding of all that is available to them. We hope that we can encourage them to see past what they see now and create a ReVision for a better tomorrow. Society has created an image for teens to believe it is easy to get the things they want without working
hard. Thus causing teens to take for granted and not value the things that they have. Getting them involved in the community, will give them the opportunity to
see how blessed they are in hopes this can change attitudes about being grateful. Teens will be participate in various community service activities so that can play and active role in giving back. Christ- Giving God the glory for who He is and all that He is doing. God is truly the foundation of ReVision. We aim to incorporate an untraditional style with Christianity by meeting teens on their level in order to engage them. Having rap sessions will allow teens to have an open platform to discuss their issues and give them an opportunity to vent while we offer Christian, scripture-based advice.
