Jeff & Joel's House Party

der musicians began to disappear festivals rose up to take their place, but now festivals and traditional music are faltering. Time for another revival of the house party. Jeff Barnhart and Joel Schiavone, two of the leaders of Connecticut Jazz and the Connecticut Jazz Festival decided to collaborate and present a house party. First, a house was needed, and the Schiavone's donated their 1804 farmhouse for the weekend of February 11th and 12th 2012 for the first occasion. Jeff with his incredible abilities and contacts invited 14 of the best traditional jazz musicians on the east coast and every one of them said yes. Biographies of all the musicians are available by clicking here. A number of volunteers who previously put on the Connecticut Jazz Festival have volunteered to help with the event. After a spectacular first event, Jeff and Joel's House Party is reconvening for our second round this October. Check back for videos, ticket information and updates as we hope to continue this house party tradition twice a year. These house parties are sure to be a memorable experience; these musicians do not normally play together and mix and match with each song.
