"I was born and bred in a Briar Patch, Brer Fox!" Here he is.....3 months in the making : Brer Rabbit. A labour if love on so many levels. Made for my Neil and with memories of my beloved Grandad who used to read us Uncle Remus as children snuggleded up at bedtime under familiar patchwork bedspreads. I literally wanted him to hop out of a Deep South bramble patch at the point he said those famous words! ...... and any excuse to watch "Fried Green Tomatoes at The Whistle Stop Cafe" for inspiration! ....the brambles themselves took almost as long as the bunny as each thorn is sculpted!

Took the early Christmas trip to look for inspiration at Christmas World so thought I would get you all in the mood!

Manically sewing autumn dolly dresses and a break to design and cut cotter joints! Riveting video enclosed!!! (Who put that mark on my Scan'nCut?!!)......slightly more riveting pics to come!!!!

A quick video on how to dye (Embroidery thread or bear mohair) with food colour.....I live very modestly so please don't judge my clean but old dwelling place! (And don't look at the electrics!!!!)

Sewing on the W& G (With piano accompaniment in the street outside!!!!) .....it actually sounds louder than it is because my phone mic is super sensitive!

Barney Bear. 6 inch hand dyed recylcled mohair & velvet, glass eyes. Pending waistcoat! One Off pattern.
This is Barney....much darker than he looks ; a divine terracotta brown....he has been a bit of an experiment to be honest as he is bigger (6 inches standing/ 4.5inches sitting) than my previous bears but turned out to be a very sweet little man. He has a slight tilt to his head and oversized feet but somehow he seems to work. Am just about to draft him a waistcoat......I hope you like him.

SEWING FROM THE BEGINNING III 13-16
I'll post the link to Etsy up later. The price hasn't changed £14.99 SEWING FROM THE BEGINNING III…..A really good sewing kit for Teenagers 13-16 Sewing is a wonderful skill for teens that perfect follows on from SFB I and III. The success of the first 2 kits over the past few years gained numerous mums and junior fans wanting a kit for the teen ; that age group above 13 who perhaps had gained in confidence, patience or perhaps just wanted a more grown up introduction to embroidery. Unlike the first 2 kits it was mums and all my budding embroiders who advised on this one. They said they loved the more complex stitches of SFB II because they 'Looked hard but weren't!' and were interested in using 'proper embroidery thread'....so here it is (and I suspect there will be many more!) Let me tell you about this Kit! Except for scissors, everything needed is enclosed to sew this sampler. No parents notes are enclosed any more because it is assumed - and the instructions will be enough - that the piece will be worked independently. As you know I hate 'ageing' my kits (the first kit from 8-10 and the second from 11-13) but this one is geared to teens BUT the instruction format differ very little from the other kits. This means that if your Poppet has completed both I and !! by the age of 11, then there is absolutely no reason why she/he couldn't tackle this one! All children are different and really only you will know your child’s artistic talents or specific interests. This is the third kit (Kit III) in the set threading a needle and tying a knot are covered for the novice however the biggest difference is the thread type. Stranded Cotton is used - the same as is used in 'grown up' embroidery and cross stitch and so I'll show how to 'prepare' the thread by smoothing it out - most adult stitchers don't know how to do this! The stitches are very easy buy a couple require concentration. The fun ones however are the woven daisies! All the instructions in a
