Those of us who commit to change versus those of us who hope for it.
When you are committed to a goal it allows you to:
Push through the ups and downs of the process
Do things that are required to get to your goal even when you don’t want to
Have a sense of belief that you WILL reach your goal
But if you’re telling yourself, “I HOPE I will lose the weight one day…” or “I hope I will like working out one day”
Even though your intentions are good, if you’re hoping to lose weight or hoping to find time one day to workout, it’s not the same as committing.
When we COMMIT to something, something inside of us instantly changes.
We are more ready to do this that may not be comfortable.
We are more optimistic.
We are more persistent.
Why “Hoping” you’ll lose weight is actually preventing you from losing weight.
We have all been trained to”hope” good things happen to us.
We hope we get the job.
We hope we can grow our business.
We hope we can manage our time better.
We hope we can reach our ideal weight.
The problem with hope, is that you always have the belief that you won’t actually reach it to fall back on.
You have good intentions, but when you only hope for something, you aren’t going to do everything in your power to reach your goal.
Instead of hoping, I need you to commit.
Instead of hoping you reach your ideal weight, you commit to reaching your ideal weight.
When you commit, failure is not an option.
What does this mean?
This means that you will be more of an active go-getter and less of a person who finds excuses, complains, or gives up when they “fail” or encounter a set back.
