Happy Canada Day! Here are the July specials! July is a great month to host a party - because it's Mop Month! There are only 3 months of the year that Norwex gives the Mop away to hosts. It's so easy to host. And, great bang for your buck on the sales this month! The graphite colour Enviro is new this year. The MVP (Microfiber Variety Pack) is very handy. Produce wash is great to take the film off of produce bought at the grocery store. And, I love the produce bags to cut down on plastic - these mesh bags go with you to the store and straight into your fridge when you get home. Let me know if you'd like to order, I'll be placing an order next week!
Interesting article found on Weather Network site. Sites CBC as a source. I sure hope this is true and that microbeads are eventually banned. They are essentially plastic beads in soaps/cleaning products. They serve no purpose and only add more plastic that lasts forever in our landfills and oceans. https://www.theweathernetwork.com/news/articles/canadian-government-lists-microbeads-as-a-toxic-substance/69601/
Canadian government lists microbeads as a toxic substance The federal government has officially listed microbeads -- tiny pieces of plastics found in a wide range of personal care products -- as a toxic substance, paving the way for an eventual ban.
Norwex Birthday Sale! And, host incentives for the month of June. My average hosts receive $200-300 in free product!
You spend good money on Norwex cloths. Keep them lasting longer. It's just a matter of proper care. The main thing is to rinse thoroughly with just water and hang to dry. But, when they get ready to wash in the machine (not often) wash with lint free and don't use softener or harsh detergents.
The Canadian Cancer Society website lists phthalates as a harmful substance on their Be Aware page. Phthalates are a group of chemicals used to soften and make things more flexible. Known as plasticizers, they are commonly added to vinyl and plastic products (like toys). They are also commonly added to cosmetics and body lotions as fillers. Phthalates have been detected in liver tumours and cause fertility problems in rats and mice. Why would we want to put this on our skin? Norwex skin care is phthalate, paraben, and SLS free. http://www.cancer.ca/en/prevention-and-screening/be-aware/harmful-substances-and-environmental-risks/phthalates/?region=on
Phthalates - Canadian Cancer Society We are concerned about phthalates in plastic products used in certain medical supplies and children’s toys and supplies. Learn how reduce your exposure.
April Customer Specials! Get the Mop - you will love it!!
Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES/SLS) is a lathering agent added to most soaps and detergents. People tend to think bubbles and foam = clean. The problem with SLS is that the manufacturing process often involves ethylene oxide, a known carcinogen. There is no way for consumers to know whether it has involved this process. It also doesn't easily degrade and can remain in the environment long after it has gone down the drain. Norwex cleaning products and skin care is totally SLS and SLES free! Everything from their laundry detergent, kids bubble bath, dish soap... Totally SLS and SLES free. I feel much better knowing I'm cleaning my home and family without the toxic chemicals. And, that I am not adding more waste to the environment. http://www.davidsuzuki.org/issues/health/science/toxics/chemicals-in-your-cosmetics---sodium-laureth-sulfate/
Sodium Laureth Sulfate Sodium laureth sulfate (sometimes referred to as SLS) is used in cosmetics as a detergent and also to make products bubble and foam. It is common in shampoos, shower gels and facial cleansers. It is also found in household cleaning products, like dish soap.
Parabens are the most commonly added preservative in cosmetics and fragrances. Since fragrance recipes are considered trade secrets, you won't find them listed on the bottle. The scary thing about parabens is that they are a group of chemicals that easily pe*****te the skin and they interfere with hormone function. Parabens can actually mimic estrogen, the female s*x hormone and have been detected in human breast cancer. They have also been found to interfere with male reproductive functions. Furthermore, when applied to the skin they react with UVB causing premature aging and DNA damage. This is why I love Norwex. Norwex skin care is completely paraben free! http://davidsuzuki.org/issues/health/science/toxics/chemicals-in-your-cosmetics---parabens/
Parabens Parabens are the most widely used preservative in cosmetics. They are also used as fragrance ingredients, but consumers won't find that listed on the label. An estimated 75 to 90 per cent of cosmetics contain parabens.
Just a little food for thought.
