Pleased to share our original research manuscript entitled “Pharmacist-Led interventions in optimising the use of oral anticoagulants (OAC) in atrial fibrillation patients in the general practice in England: A retrospective observational study” in British Journal of General Practice-Open. This research is aimed at investigating the effectiveness of pharmacist-led interventions in general practice in optimising the use of OAC therapies in atrial fibrillation. Given the relatively recent implementation of pharmacists in patient-facing roles within general practice (GP), there is a scarcity of published research in this domain, particularly concerning the assessment of pharmacist-led interventions in chronic conditions like atrial fibrillation. The findings of this research will enhance the understanding of anticoagulant optimisation within primary care, providing valuable insights for healthcare professionals.

Congratulation of our brilliant PhD student Raman Sharma for all the hard work and thanks to Barbara Conway Syed Shahzad Hasan Ishtiaq Gilkar and Waheed Hussain for their contributions. Special thanks to Health Education England and City Health GP Federation, Bradford, UK, for the funding.
