**Mike Wazowski Update: Growing and Thriving!**

Mike Wazowski is growing fast—his foster parents think he’s doubled in size, and sometimes it seems like he grows overnight! With his superpower of snuggling, he’s becoming quite the charmer. He loves to crawl into his foster mom’s lap to fall asleep or cozy up to the big dogs.

Mike enjoys playing with his toys, especially finding the squeakers. Though he has sharp puppy teeth, he’s easily redirected to his toys and bones. Despite his playful nature, he still loves a good nap.

Recently, Mike got his first round of shots, and when he walked into the vet, the staff all yelled, “It’s Mike Wazowski!” He hasn’t met a person he doesn’t like, especially kids. He met his foster parent’s niece and followed her everywhere. He also visited his foster aunt’s workplace, where everyone squealed with excitement when they saw him. They all agreed that puppy days should always be a thing!

Mike does well with other dogs and has even encountered some TAF kitties. He was very respectful of their space but definitely curious.

Stay tuned for more updates on this sweet boy as he continues to grow and get ready for his forever home! 💚

UPDATE: Daphne, Scooby, Fred and Velma!

On June 28th, we were notified of 5 kittens found on the side of a rural road near death. Due to the amazing support of The Arrow Fund family, we said yes and brought them into our care.

Look at Daphne, Scooby, Fred and Velma today. They are all doing so well, and went to the vet this week for their second round of shots.

Daphne and Scooby were recently cleared to move into loving foster-to-adopt homes after their first round of shots. They have really blossomed, and now know the joy that having their own family brings. Once they are old enough, they will be spay/neutered and the adoption finalized.

We are excited to announce that Fred and Velma were cleared this week at the vet. They each have one more round of shots to go as well as their spay/neuter. We are so excited that they both now have foster-to-adopt homes, and will be moving in soon.

Daphne, Scooby, Fred and Velma want to Thank everyone for their love and support. The Arrow Fund Family Rocks!!

UPDATE: Guinness, our good buddy and Arrow Fund rescue who has healed completely from his original injuries (he had deep lacerations from a coyote snare-type trap back in January) wants you know that he’s still searching for someone to love:

“Hi, I’m Guinness, and I’m going to tell you more about myself because I am still looking for my forever friend or family. I keep hoping to find a person or couple of my very own to love, walk with, play tug with, and cuddle with on the couch!

Anywho, here’s what my friends at The Arrow Fund, my favorite mentor, John Imler, and my fosters say about me after knowing me even better:

- I’m 44 lbs. of solid fun, and I’m a huge fan of full-body hugs! I love physical touch!

- I will reach my face up to give yours a quick kiss if I get the chance!

- I’m only around a year old, so I still have lots of energy and plenty of time to love my forever family. I’m housebroken, and I can’t wait to show you what a good friend I’ll be!

- I like to play and I do have fun with other dogs my size or even bigger! I’ve even gotten to hang out with some cool girls who are Belgian Malinois!! So, they know I’m a big fan of the older lady dogs!

- I’m a morning dude who comes out of my night crate ready to play TUG!! Please play with me for a little bit, and I promise to settle down not long after.

- I personally have nothing against cats, but my mentor, John, says I might be driven to chase those smaller critters because of my heritage. You can’t blame a guy for running after something so cute, right?

- Give me a toy to chew on in the evening, and I’ll settle right down on my bed or the couch if you invite me to snuggle!

- My friends at The Arrow Fund are excited to get my DNA results back SOON so they can tell you even more about me, but let ME tell you: I know I’m a good boy—don’t need a test for that!

PLEASE consider fostering-to-adopt me!! It’s a good way for us to get to know each other, and figure out if I’m the good buddy you’ve always needed in your life!!”

NEW INTAKE: EVERYONE WELCOME DAISY TO THE ARROW FUND FAMILY!

We received a call about Daisy, a lab mix that is currently between 8-10 years old. She had just finished weening another set of puppies, and was seriously underweight (at only 56 pounds). Daisy also has a mass on her hip, and we are not sure whether the biopsy results will indicate that it's benign or cancerous. Regardless of however long this sweet lab has left to live, we were compelled to do whatever we could to make any of her remaining days, months, or years wonderful, surrounded by people who will love her until whatever day she finally crosses the Rainbow Bridge.

Daisy has been taken to a local veterinarian in her area, who ran a complete battery of tests. The vet also suggested that she may have been bred over and over, perhaps knowing life as only a puppy factory. This sweet mama has been scheduled for spay surgery, at which time they will also remove the mass. We will update you as soon as possible about the results of Daisy’s tests, biopsy, and surgery.

Her life will finally be lived just for her, with no obligation other than to be loved.

We are so thankful that one of The Arrow Fund's amazing fosters stepped up so we could say yes! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for fostering this older girl!

Please help with Daisy’s surgery and care if you can by clicking on the donate button below, VENMO , or by mail to PO Box 1127 Prospect, KY 40059.

🐾 Look at this sweet pupdate!! 🐾

“Here’s an update on Houston. We’re getting ready to celebrate our 2 year “gotcha-day” anniversary with him. Houston absolutely loves living the farm life. His best buddy is our very large orange tabby named Larry. Houston & Larry are pretty inseparable and are often found sleeping in the same bed.

Houston also loves going to the barn where he taps into his inner-herd dog keeping 2 horses & a feisty mule in line. Another of Houston’s favorite things is going hiking with us and car rides. He also really enjoys his spa days at the groomer who says Houston is her favorite client. Of course he is, look at that face!

Thank you Arrow Fund for rescuing Houston and for letting us be his adoptive parents. We absolutely adore this little tri-pod with a huge personality!!”

🐾 Little Mike Wazowski Update 🐾

Mike Wazowski had a big day at the vet to have his staples removed, and we’re proud to report that he was the best boy! The entire staff fell in love with him. 🥰 He was cute before, but now that you can see his whole face without the staples, he’s even cuter!

Mike continues to grow, and more of his playful puppy personality is shining through—complete with those sharp little puppy teeth! He’s just like any other puppy, spending his days playing and then napping.

We’re excited to share that Mike will be ready for a foster-to-adopt home soon! Stay tuned for more updates on this sweet boy’s journey. 💚

Animals desperately seeking temporary foster families 12/08/2024

Thank you, Spectrum News 1 Kentucky, for sharing The Arrow Fund’s need for more fosters!

“You get to take them in for a while, you get to play with them, you get to enjoy them, and there’s no cost to you.”

Like Thom Ham, our Exec. Dir., said, there’s no cost to you as a foster for The Arrow Fund! We take care of all medical/supply expenses, food, toys, and even transport expenses.

The more fosters we have, the more pets we can help!

“It’s really upsetting when we have to say no. Nobody wants to say no, and when we’re saying no because we don’t have a foster home for it to go to, that breaks our heart even more,” Ham said.

ADOPTED!!!
What a HAPPY way to start the week!

Spencer, who was rescued by The Arrow Fund back in January when he was found starving (see before photos) and wandering around on frost-bitten feet in a rural county, has been officially ADOPTED by his forever family, and he is now thriving!

His adopter wrote, “Things are great with Spencer. He's 24/7 off leash and doing great. He's good with the chickens, cats, and the baby. He spends most of the day napping on the porch, and is just such a joy to have around.”

She finished by adding, “He's a goofy boy that loves everything and everybody!”

Knowing that our Arrow Fund rescues are doing so well and loving being a part of their new forever families makes our hearts happy!

THE BEAUTIFUL VELMA IS LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER FAMILY!

Velma joined The Arrow Fund family in June. She was estimated to be about three weeks old, and had already been through way too much. She was malnourished, had an upper respiratory infection and had internal parasites.

Her medical foster was unsure if she would make it through night one. However, she is a fighter and was determined to survive and thrive. She had her first round of shots at the end of July with her second round coming up on August 20th. She will be ready to transition to her forever home at that point if cleared by the vet.

This would be a foster-to-adopt home, as she will still need to complete her shots and be spayed (The Arrow Fund will cover those expenses). If interested in adding her to your family, please click on the link below.

🐾 Update on Cecilia “CeCe”! 🐾

Cecilia, or “CeCe” as we’ve been affectionately calling her, is the malnourished kitty who was found blind and completely helpless about a week ago.

She had a health assessment yesterday, and the vet determined that although she has gained a little weight, this tiny girl is still only about half the weight she should be at 8 weeks old. Those who have held her say she feels smaller than the weight of an orange in your hand.

The vet said her ruptured eyes will need to be removed only after she’s gained enough weight to withstand anesthesia and surgery, so she is scheduled for a medical follow up in four weeks.

At that time, the veterinary eye care specialist will also reassess her healing, and hopefully, be able to plan a date for eye removal.

In the meantime, CeCe will be going to the perfect Arrow Fund foster home with someone who not only understands her healthcare needs, but will also envelop her with love and care. Her eyes will continue to be cleaned of debris and drainage, and CeCe will continue to receive multiple medications, given or applied at regular intervals throughout the day.

This little one doesn’t let blindness stop her from being completely adorable, though! CeCe is interested in playing with kitty toys, snuggling and purring close to her human friends, curling up under a ray of warm sunshine filtered through a window, and in exploring the world around her.

If you meet this adventurous, sweet, and snuggly kitten, please don’t tell her that she’s actually blind—we’re not sure she knows!

This baby’s upcoming surgery and meds will be costly. Please help if you can by clicking the donate button or link below, by mail to PO Box 1127, Prospect, KY 40059, or by Venmo: .

🐾 Update on Mike Wazowski! 🐾

Mike, our adorable puppy named after the beloved *Monsters Inc.* character, came to us with an injured eye and had to undergo surgery to remove it. We're happy to report that he's doing incredibly well in his foster home!

He recently had a washcloth bath and is now all cleaned up. Mike is a snuggle bug who gives the sweetest puppy kisses. He loves to wag his tail and does big stretches when he gets out of his kennel. Last night, he even chased his tail and did the cutest bunny hops wanting to play!

Although he sometimes gets spooked if he bumps into something on his right side, he's adapting wonderfully by using his other senses more, especially sniffing. He's very curious about the big dogs and wants to play, though they're still getting used to him. Loud barks can spook him a bit, but he's not scared or reactive to other dogs.

This morning, Mike went on a stroller walk and met some new people. He loves everyone he meets! 🥰

Thank you for all your support and love for Mike! Stay tuned for more updates on his journey. 💚

NEW INTAKE: EVERYONE, WELCOME MIKE WAZOWSKI TO THE ARROW FUND FAMILY!

We were notified about Mike W. after he had been attacked by another dog. The little one is about three weeks old and three pounds. He was not rushed to the vet after the attack, and had untreated and severe injuries to his eye for a couple of days. Once the local shelter took possession of little Mike, they contacted us, and we knew we needed to help.

He was then rushed into surgery at Elk Creek. Unfortunately, his left eye could not be saved. The great news is that he came out of surgery well, and is now recovering in a loving Arrow Fund foster home.
Mike's surgery was costly. To help with the cost of his care, please click on the donate button below, or mail to PO Box 1127, Prospect, KY 40059.

Be an Everyday Hero

The images are startling and impactful. Blunt force trauma. Gaping wounds. The sickening photos of an innocent dog or cat so heartlessly neglected that its suffering is astonishingly visible. We see them and are moved to immediate action.

The Arrow Fund was created to step up and give these victims a fighting chance. A chance to live through whatever emergency intervention is necessary. We give them time to recover physically, and perhaps most of all, a chance to finally know that human hands are not just made for hitting or hurting others.

That process takes time. Animals rescued often need time to heal, as well as to learn through consistent, loving, and often unglamorous daily health care, that most humans are good. Dressings have to be changed. Medicines given. Ointments applied. Eyes and fur cleaned of debris and drainage. Vet visits scheduled and animals transported.

Your involvement and concern make everything that The Arrow Fund does for animals possible. We simply could not care for any of these victims of neglect and torture without your help. You make the dramatic and extremely expensive lifesaving measures possible. You ALSO make the day-to-day, dutiful, daily care possible.

It may not seem like much, but even $10 or $20 a month by a few dozen caring donors makes a huge difference in the lives of those animals who need more time to recover. Your monthly commitment to The Arrow Fund enables us to get their much-needed medical and living supplies.

The intake images are powerful and move us all to want to take immediate action, but in cases that require time, your monthly, recurring gift to The Arrow Fund truly makes you an everyday hero in the lives of so many more who need time to heal.

Will you be one of our everyday heroes?

Sign up today:
