The Medieval and Renaissance Society is pleased to be planning a session entitled
Moral Crises: Performing Ethics in Early Drama
In keeping with the Congress’ theme of Crisis, we invite papers that treat any aspect of early drama and the way it negotiates, subverts, questions, or otherwise engages with communal or individual ethics. Organizers are happy to consider papers related to the performance of early texts during the modern period. We are particularly interested in the potential conflict between different moral systems. Both text-based and performance-based studies are encouraged, as are interdisciplinary approaches. Deadline for abstracts: September 15, 2023. Please send to Carolyn Coulson at [email protected]
