Silksworth Bowls Club
Silksworth are a bowls club based in Sunderland who are always looking for new members.
We currently have players who compete at county, national and International level and are very successful within the local area competitions.
Don't forget we have our Bowls Big Weekend Open Day on the 26th May. Everyone is welcome and it's completely free.
Last year's event was a great success with some of the photos below.
A couple of drop outs for this weekend if anyone wants a late entry. Please drop a comment or PM Jaxon Mckenna
We would love to see some new faces at the club 😊
𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗦!
A huge well done to Durham's Silksworth Bowls Club 🏆
They beat Huntingdonshire's Brampton BC 32-31 in the Men's Club Two Fours final! 👏
In what has been a tough time for everyone, Silksworth Bowls Club are looking forward to being able to get back to the green and hopefully returning to some normality in the near future.
We are committed to working with the local communities and we are delighted to support an Easter Egg Appeal for the Grindon Young People's Centre. This follows previous fundraising for Youth Almighty Project in Silksworth who have done an amazing job during the pandemic. We also offered the use of the club for the members of Grindon Mill Bowling Club who lost their facilities in 2019 but Covid meant we could not open our green. We hope to see some of their former members at Silksworth this season.
Once the club opens at the end of April we would welcome anyone who is looking to try something new whilst getting out in the open air, exercising, socialising and being part of a very forward thinking club. The kettle is always on so even if you just want to sit in the sun and have a chat you are more than welcome. Our sport is ideally suited for social distancing and any equipment will be sanitised before and after use.
We will provide updates in the lead up to the club opening and advise the guidelines that we will be following from the Government. Hope to see some new faces in the future.
