Educating parents Once I had children of my own, that understanding intensified, and left me feeling helpless.
After working for years in a busy pediatric ER, I have come to realize the fear that parents have regarding their children's health and well being. Times are tough in our medical system, and sadly parents are not always getting the information, support, and encouragement that they truly need. WeeWorkshops is a way to answer, support and encourage parents regarding these issues.

Safe sleep
Most moms aren't putting babies to sleep safely, study says Despite a 23-year campaign urging that babies be put to bed on their backs, only 43.7% of US mothers report that they both intend to use this method and actually do so all the time.

You never know when you will need to do CPR , may be for a family member, a friend, or a complete stranger. Nonetheless, you can save a life, or at least know you've done everything you could to at least try.

This is a sad state of affairs, when disease we have not seen start to re-emerge due to poor education, misinformation and panic. Please, inform yourself using appropriate sources and guidance about immunization before making these decisions.

I can't stress enough, the importance of hand washing for both you and your children. And not with antibacterial soaps or hand sanitizers- remember the good old days , with a bar of soap or an antibacterial free soap.. it does wonders! We taught our kids how to wash their hands using the " alphabet song", to ensure it was long enough and showed proper technique. I remember A preschool teacher saying to me " I knew you were a nurse because I never saw a 3 year old boy wash his hands so well"!!!:)
