Women's Relief Initiative- Initiative d’aides aux Femmes
A package of sanitary pads is far too expensive for women in underserved communities to have access to. We plan to change this.
Women’s Relief Initiative is hosting a Dignity Kits Distribution Event, where we’ll provide dignity kits filled with essential items for people who menstruate. This event also includes an educational workshop with physicians and medical students, focusing on women’s wellness. Join us in promoting a healthier and more dignified future! 💖 Here is the link to the event for more details: https://fb.me/e/8lqJZe48x
Join Us in Making a Difference! Our Women's Relief Initiative Non-profit is dedicated to distributing Dignity Kits and conducting Women's Wellness Workshops, both locally in Texas and globally. We are actively seeking interpreters fluent in Spanish, Arabic, French, Parsi, Dari, or Wolof to support our community outreach projects. By joining our team, you contribute to breaking down barriers and making dignified healthcare more accessible to women and other menstruators in need.
🔗 If you are fluent in any of these languages and have a passion for making a difference, we invite you to be part of our initiative. Your skills can help us provide vital support to women facing challenges and help create a more inclusive and compassionate world.

We are accepting leadership applications for WRI, on the nonprofit side! WRI is a 501c3 organization that strives to provide menstrual aid that empowers women, sustains the environment, and uplifts under-resourced communities. One of our main goals as an organization is to develop a fully biodegradable disposable pad from affordable and sustainable resources. We are currently on the 7th prototype of our biodegradable pad and we hope to begin preliminary clinical trials soon. While our product is in research and development phase, we are fighting period poverty on both a local and international scale through pad drives, fundraising efforts, educational materials, and collaborations with other groups in the space, both local and global. We also host a podcast called Code Red where we hope to de-stigmatize conversations about periods by having open conversations on the topic!!
If you are interested in joining us and adding to our efforts, follow the application link in our bio to submit your application!

For this year, WRI partnered with Austin based nonprofit, Yellow Rose Initiative and a Tanzania based nonprofit, to provide support to menstruators experiencing homelessness and menstruators with disabilities.
Through the generous support of our donors and supporters, WRI was able to provide funding to these partner organizations to carry out service projects within their local communities.
Femme International collaborated with another Tanzania based nonprofit, which works to promote and encourage good health for women, girls, and children with disabilities in Tanzania.
Through this collective partnership and with WRI’s funding support, the two organizations were able to host a menstrual health workshop, serving women with disabilities in Tanzania. With the funding, they hosted this workshop event in which they taught the participants about menstruation, how to use menstrual pads, how to care for themselves during their periods, and distributed 20 afripads to 15 women and 5 girls.
With WRI’s funding support, Yellow Rose assembled and distributed about 130 care packages which included toiletries (see photos) to Austin locals experiencing homelessness.
As always, we thank you all for your continued support and belief in the mission of WRI!

Comprehensive S*x Education, or CSE, is supported by 82% of adults, yet only 24 states mandate s*x education. According to the 2014 CDC School Health Profiles, fewer than half of high schools and only a fifth of middle schools teach all 16 topics recommended by the CDC as essential components of s*x education. These topics range from basic information on how HIV and other STDs are transmitted - and how to prevent infection - to critical communication and decision-making skills. It is important to research and understand your state’s policies about s*x education and advocate for a more comprehensive program for students.
