✨“Since joining The Circle, I am slowly finding my voice. I meditate and journal regularly and feel "off" if I don't take that time to myself. I shed so many tears during this process. Not because I was sad but because I felt heard and understood. I didn't feel alone. The Circle was transformative for me. The Circle lit a fire in me and I'm changing for the better. A million times thank you.” Founding Member Testimonial 🤍

We are being intentionally quieter on social these days as we're turning inward + reflecting on where we're going. Join our email club to receive updates at blackgirlinom.com.
🕊After several weeks spent turned deeply inward so that I could listen closely to my heart, intuition, and Divine guidance, I must share that we are no longer opening Home by Black Girl In Om at this time. My heart is heavy as I know this may be received as a disappointment, yet full because of the tremendous support of the community—all of you who helped us raise funds and visibility around our highest vision to create a physical space for intergenerational healing in Minneapolis.
The funds raised are now supporting us in providing scholarships to The Circle, our membership community, specifically for black women in Minneapolis, trauma-informed care training for our team, and a trauma-informed care program for The Circle. Gratefully, the funds have also supported us in handling the operating costs of the space.
I was called home to Minnesota in March 2020 and did so knowing it was a call to deepen into intergenerational healing. After the murders of so many of our beloved community members in 2020 kept triggering our trauma I felt called to open an intergenerational healing space for black women. With the pandemic exacerbating our isolation, I felt a deep responsibility to show up and do something. In retrospect, I see that I was already doing something. Many things, in fact. I now see that, unconsciously, my motivation for opening this intergenerational healing space came largely from a place of feeling like I wasn’t doing “enough”.
May I remind you that how you’re showing up with your gifts and service with now in this moment is enough. That you need not overextend yourself. May I remind you that you don’t have to do anything in order to be valued, loved, and supported. The year that was 2020 was a l o t and now you can rest and recover. You need not turn it up a notch, or ten. You can ease into your wholeness and your healed self now. And that you deserve.
BGIO will continue to cultivate space for us to remember our inherent wholeness, and the beauty and power in giving others a chance to be supportive of collective healing. If you’d like to continue supporting our work, feel free to visit blackgirlinom.com/support.
In gratitude,
Lauren Ash
