54 Mercury Original Patina Build-Off Page.
I am building this 1954 Mercury "UTE" for the https://www.facebook.com/OPRatrodBuildOff/
I have a motor for it already. I need more sponsors. Thanks
FINALLY!!! A shelf of stuff I can afford. Build back or something or other....................π«π πΊπΈ in the π½
Got the 03 motor and transmission mounted into 54 frame without having to break the ac lines or tr**ny lines so everything is still closed up in tight on this motor. Anxious now to start getting the body mounted in the floor cut in. Thanks for watching.
S**t got real on Saturday. We are out here again today. (6/9/19)
got a good start today on the teardown of the parts car looking forward to it tomorrow to start tearing the 03 Mercury in the parts car apart and swapping stuff
Looks better with wheels and tires on it so I can unload it.
well I had a parts car follow me home yesterday from cedar rapids Nebraska. The frame is in much better shape than the Ute so I will use it. Now to get this old 4-door body off get the frame cleaned up at the 03 Mercury engine and transmission in it and I'll be ready to go.
Some of the pictures of the car after Orr got it done in 1967.
So here are a couple of pictures of my 54 Mercury when it was being built originally in 1965. Two years before I was even born. He finished it and took pictures in 1967 of the finished car I will post them later. He did an awesome job. I am convinced that the rear window and end of the roofline was all handmade by him and not cut from a Chevy pickup.
They used a lot more bolts and 54 to hold stuff together than they do now.
How killer is this? Dug out all the crap and extra parts in the "cab" and found a Hurst shifter coming out of the floor.
"SIGNS"
So I am getting that car in Kansas from nobody else's Auto recycling. you shot me a great deal because you knew the car would get built. He was worried that with its interesting history that it didn't just get scrapped out.

I've got my first sponsor. I can't wait for Dan to get me concept drawings and to have a great set of buckets and a nice console in this beast. Thanks Kustom Alley.
