🤌🏻Mama mia.. what a duo these beauties are. It is that they care so much about others that makes them beautiful to me, their souls make the space around them beautiful too. on the left and on the right. Their tenacious spirit to life and caring attitude towards others in the hospitality world is impeccable. Thankyou so very much for making my work and stay so exciting and enjoyable. Water trickling, meandering drop by drop carring like veins the rivers delivers safely to where it may have all begun. Fattening the banks with its silt and a rich habitat it all breeds.

What came first, the chicken or the egg? This is a take on that, mushroom arancini "eggs", braised chicken with dates, garlic, capers and burned oregano.

Celebrsting artists I've worked with.
1. I'm going to begin with this gorgeous favourite and fabulous creative artist I've had the pleasure to work with. Her creativity stems from deep overflowing streams from the mountains of the creative gods. Poupoute is running this untamed yet gentle energy and shes worked creating space with her magic. She's done many set designs including 2020-2021 new years in kilifi both at the secret part and at , displays her art in all forms from painted tables that are lit to recycled tyres for their kitchen service, hand painting the .umva earings and macrame the special wind chimes for the egg house in watamu just to mention a few many check her work out at

What inspires me doesn't always come from with fine lines and broad strikes.

Who is the man behind The Culinary Backpacker

My passion for food was born taking on a job whilst at University in England, at the local Pizza Express. As I paid my way through a degree in Medical Science, I found I had more of a passion for the time I spent in the kitchen of the restaurant than burying my nose into books about conjuring advanced chemical compounds.

Very quickly I learnt that I found more excitement and satisfaction working with raw ingredients in a warm kitchen, then the more sterile labs of the University science building. I very quickly. However taking the leap from being in what was considered a “Stable” career as a Pharmacist to being a Chef wasn’t the sort of conversation I wanted to have with my parents, especially considering their large investment into my education.

But as they say the universe had other plans, and before I knew it quickly rose through the ranks at Pizza Express, eventually managing 3 branches in the West-Midlands region in England. This sparked my confidence and more so my curiosity about all things Gastronomy. So after quitting my degree, and 5 years of running 3 of England’s most popular chain of restaurants, I decided to take the leap and head to French Fine Dining Schools in Devonshire England, determined to expand my skillset and knowledge of fine foods.
