Documenting family trips one adventure at a time!

Sometimes the simple adventures are the best ones of all! We love stopping my trees, grass, bushes, etc. to let Ada Jean take in the nature all around us. Beauty is everywhere, even right outside DQ. 🍃😊

Santa Elena Canyon Trail 3.23.24 🌞

Driving around the huge canyon reminds you how small you are. There is so much to take in at this park. We completed my favorite hike with our little girl & parents. It was sooooo special 💞 core memory moment!!! Colby & I hiked this same trail 3 years ago. At that point in time, we dreamed of where we are now. I am in such awe of life! Thank you GOD!

Happy Fourth of July!!! 🇺🇸

The TX RVlife crew is GROWING! Our precious Baby Girl is due this November 🎀🥳 follow along as we remodel the bunkhouse office space into her baby room!!! 🔨💪🏻

We can’t wait to watch fireworks with our girl next year. We discovered another benefit of living in flatland country is seeing fireworks for miles. 🎆🩷 This year, we watched them shoot off all around us on our evening walk which was super special. Best Fourth of July yet & I have a feeling next year will be even better!!! 👶🏻🎀💘

Same crew, different view! Yes, we are DOG PEOPLE and nothing, not even tiny home living, will stop it from happening! 🐶💕

These 3 have been kicking it together since our college days back in 2018… 💜

Greetings from Midland ✨

We are loving our new home. Fall b-ball every Monday, the work flow is in full swing, & tonight’s cool fall winds are making us feel extra grateful to be out west!

🤍 new spot, same HOME 🤍

One of my favorite things about is that no matter where life takes you, you’re home follows you! No moving boxes, no new layouts, no new furniture… Just a new view. I love it! 🚋🗺💫

Can’t believe we’ve already made it to 1 Year of Marriage! This photo was taken during our engagement on our first trip out to Caprock Canyon (before I knew the extent of Comanche history in the area). Good memories! Can’t wait to continue to make more out in the Permian Basin 🏜😍

Quanah Parker, age 12, with his little brother, age 10, fled on horseback across 75-100 miles while being tracked by Charles Goodnight & fellow rangers. The only 2 to survive the raid. They would never see their mother again & witnessed the death of their Chief father. They would go on to find safety at a large Indian camp in the Llano Estacado territory.

A stunning story! Even more so after our personal account of getting lost within Caprock Canyon State Park. We eventually found our way back using the state park issued map, trail markings, the help of another confused group, etc…….. Making it very easy to see how the last Comanche band used the canyons to outplay & out trick their suitors in the 1860s.

Colby & my brother at Caprock Canyon! 🏜🦬

This was before we saw the long trail of American Bison & lost our way for a bit on “the Loop” 🤣 Such a great adventure on a solid 9 mile trek!!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Ours was a very “Texas” Christmas at 81 degrees…

UPDATE: we’re very blessed to have safely gotten our Raider Jay (2014 Jayco Jayflight 36BHDS) to Brownwood, Texas earlier this week. So excited, we love our new spot! ✨❤️🤍

Roxy Lavern is enjoying the chilly weather here in the LBK! Can’t believe it’s already November… 🦃🎄

Happy & safe travels to my non-stationary 🤩

Love our “tiny” yard! The leaves are beginning to fall so I thought I’d get one last picture before the season really starts to change! 🍃

There’s nothing like finding a local shop that provides one of a kind vintage pieces & antiques! 💖 I love the feeling of wearing a unique item that no one else may even have. Just one of the benefits of ✨

Brownwood has some great local boutiques and vintage stores! I still haven’t been in all of them yet but I’m so happy to be moving to a town with such an active & thriving Main Street full of one of a kind small town businesses! A town that facilitates small business ownership is a town for me!!! 😍🥳

Such a great little hidden gem down in Sonora, TX! Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico may be bigger but this Texas underground cavern was the brightest, prettiest, & sparkliest one we’ve been in so far. 🤩

Warning: if you’re get claustrophobic, this one may push you to your limits… but the views are worth it!!!

Yesterday, I had my first in-person client meeting ever!!! It went so great & reminded me why I wanted to pursue this profession in the first place. So grateful for my purpose & to be part of the Tax Clinic at the TTU School of Law! ❤️🖤❤️🖤

Side note: love my little photo bombing Roxy Lavern… 🥰

21/08/2021

HAPPY SATURDAY 🤠✨ our new dog fence has been such a great addition to our lifestyle!! With our Roxy girl recently going deaf, we needed to add more safety measures in our routine. They’re both adjusting nicely with law school starting back up again!

New look for the daybed 🤍

I think Roxy girl likes it! 💫🐶
Thanks for the extra pillows from ❕❕❕

Colby’s first time to the Alamo! ✨excited we were able to check off this Texas staple off the list for this guy. Every good Texan needs to visit the Alamo. Victory or Death!!! ❤️🤍💙

Excited to go back to Rockport this summer! 🤩 so many beautiful beaches in this area of Texas— Oceandrive, Mustang Island, Padre, etc.

26/06/2021

That “in the midst” of a renovation feeling! 💫 it’s so fun to watch this transformation take place as things get finished! This 2014 Montana High Country 318RE will NOT be the same one bit!!!! 🤩🛠✨🧰

RV life— where “home” is a feeling, not a place— where ever you want it to be! I know this life isn’t for everyone (it won’t be for us either one day) but doing this has done more for us in ways I could’ve never anticipated! If you think it’s for you & you’re on the fence— don’t let your clutter/fear of letting go prevent you from the freedom of downsizing. Society pressure to live outside one’s means & maintain materialistic appearances by collecting “things” doesn’t have to be the only way! It was hard to make the jump into full time RV life but I’m so glad we did. Whether you’re stationary or traveling all across the country, RV living is such an experience! I’m forever grateful for this intentional life Colby & I have built from the very start.

05/06/2021

Did somebody say road trip?! Let me know what y’all have planned for the summer!! 🚙🤩💕💫

27/05/2021

Summertime is here & we’re so pumped for it!!! Bring on all the tanning! Another full time RVer new to the experience summed up the life nicely— “feels like you’re camping every day— it’s a new journey!” We’ve been camping everyday for almost 2 years. It’s STILL as much of a journey now as it was in the very start! 🌞🌊

22/05/2021

Home is where you park it 💖💫🚌
Tiny living comes in all shapes & forms! We love seeing all kinds— actual tiny homes, renovated buses, travel trailers, RVs, etc. The list goes on & on! The most unique idea we’ve heard recently is a renovated ambulance truck! People are so creative when it comes to minimalistic living!!! 🤩🎉💞

Hi from LBK! 💫 here’s a list of what to look for when RV SHOPPING:
• WATER DAMAGE — rusty nails, warm air in cabinets, water lines, peeling paint, etc. (although some may be signs of minor leaks). Be weary about water signs around electrical areas like slide outs.
• LAYOUT — it is extremely important you find the layout livable. Visit new RV lots with tons of examples to truly get a feel! Get in the shower, lounge around, etc. Our main priorities were restroom layout, storage, office room! Don’t settle on the layout.
• BRANDS — drive around parks & find out what’s out there. Popular brands are a sign of quality!
• PARK POLICIES — pets allowed? Size limit? Year maximum? These are all things you need to take into consideration. No use in buying an RV to live in a certain park if they won’t let you in! Some are stricter than others.
• TRAVEL OR STATIONARY — these different lifestyles can impact what you’re looking for! 5th wheels & Class Cs travel nicely on the road, while a Park Model trailer may have better long term living conditions. Road travel for any RV can be supported with products like stabilizing hitches.
• EXTERIOR — check corrosion, caulking, roof, undercarriage of the unit too see if there’s any damage. You can always reseal (and should annually) but these are signs of how the RV was maintained/cared for.
• ELECTRICAL — slide outs should work properly! Unless you’re a pro, electrical issues are NOT something you want to deal with down the line. Water damage can be a sign of potential electrical issues.
• FRIDGE — we found out that RV mini fridges can have lots of issues & they’re also small which may not be suited for longterm living! Also, a mini fridge spot may be difficult to upgrade, but many RVs come with regular sized fridges.
• FOUNDATION — lean on the walls, press up on ceiling, check the floors! You want a strong foundation & nothing should have too much give. Renovating is fun cosmetically but unexpected renovations out of necessity, not so much!
• ENJOY IT — there is always the chance you will come across something unexpected while renovating when buying used. So enjoy shopping! It’s a new life chapter & should be FUN! 🚌💖
