An absolute joy to create a cake for a surprise birthday for a very special lady. Three layers of delicious Cherry Coconut Mudcake, filled with Raspberry Swiss Meringue Buttercream, and covered with Vanilla Swiss Meringue Buttercream. The image is edible. Topper from Etched. Happy birthday Gillian.
One of my favourite wedding cakes to date. Delivered 2 hours away today to Chapel Farm in the Swan Valley for the wedding of Sami and Luke. Loved the painting with Buttercream, after mixing the colours and matching them to the bride's choice. Amazing working with .mill edible colours. So easy to work with and such a great range. I used spatulas to apply as well as various piping nozzles which gives the effect of an oil painting and loved the end result. Beautiful ceramic keepsake topper by friend of the bride The cake consisted of Cherry Coconut Mudcake, layered with raspberry buttercream and covered in Vanilla Swiss Meringue Buttercream. My project for this week, delivered to Williams (over 50kms from us), ordered by a lovely Canadian friend of the bride. She couldn't be here in Australia for the wedding, so found my page, and asked if I could help her provide a wedding cake as a surprise for her friend. I said no at first as I had a massive week last week, and we live 130kms from the nearest wholesaler, but figured I could use some of the extra flowers I made for last week's cake and come up with something suitable. I ended up making a white chocolate and raspberry cake, 20cm round by 25cm high, layered with raspberry Swiss Meringue Buttercream and covered in Vanilla Swiss Meringue Buttercream. I made heaps more sugar flowers, sent her photos of a spray coloured for her approval, had one "Mr and Mrs" topper in my supplies, and ended up very happy with the end result. Congratulations Lee and Jason, and thank you Elizabeth for asking me!
Boxes of 4 delicious cupcakes ready for delivery. Red velvet with Mars Bar filling, topped with Choc Hazelnut Buttercream and a slice of extra Mars Bar, sprinkled with a little red edible glitter for some Christmas sparkle!
First huge order of Christmas Cakes, 15 of them, picked up today by my very happy client. Each cake was decorated a little differently to the others. Almost booked up for this year.
This cake was delivered to Tanglefoot Winery at Wandering this week for an 80th birthday celebration. The cake was delicious White Chocolate and Raspberry, sandwiched with layers of Vanilla Swiss Meringue Buttercream and Raspberries. There were hand made chocolates, piped flowers and Margaret's name in chocolate letters scattered across the cake, which was covered in Vanilla Swiss Meringue Buttercream. Happy birthday Margaret.
Happy birthday Ian. When you're working away from home, you still need to be able to celebrate with friends! This cake was a Purple Velvet Cake, covered in Swiss Meringue Buttercream and layered with Vanilla Buttercream. Buttercream rosettes in shades of blue are around the bottom edge of the cake. The Chocolate shards on top and around the sides are made from White, Dark and Milk Chocolate. A great selection of Sprinkles from the Sprinkle Co added a little bit of sparkle to the occasion.
Happy birthday Alana. Not the cake we planned, but Covid has a way of interfering occasionally! Two cakes in one for variety for the guests. The cake was 7inches wide and around 9 inches tall. The top layers were White Chocolate and Raspberry Mudcake, with Vanilla and Raspberry Buttercream between the layers. The bottom half was Cherry Coconut Mudcake, layered with Vanilla Buttercream. The cake was covered in Vanilla Swiss Meringue Buttercream, decorated with handmade chocolates, meringues, macarons and handmade chocolate spheres. The chocolate shards on the top are coloured white chocolate, sprinkled with edible glitter as the birthday girl loves a bit of bling! Edible gold leaf finished the glamorous touches nicely.
Happy birthday Ian. Celebrating with friends when working away from home! This cake was a Purple Velvet Cake, 7inch x 8inch extended tier. The cake was layered with Vanilla Buttercream, covered with multi shaded Vanilla Swiss Meringue Buttercream, Dark, Milk and White Chocolate Shards decorated with a beautiful sprinkle mix and piped with rosettes of buttercream, also topped with the delightful sprinkle mix.
Happy birthday Alana. Not the cake we planned, but Covid intervened! A 7 inch extended height comprised of layers of White Chocolate and Raspberry Mudcake on top, sandwiched with Raspberry Vanilla Buttercream. The bottom half was layers of Cherry Coconut Mudcake, layered with Vanilla Buttercream. The cake was covered with Swiss Meringue Buttercream and decorated with handmade chocolate spheres, Macarons, handmade chocolate hearts, meringues, and shards of pink and mauve chocolate. Edible gold leaf added a touch of luxury.
A photo from a while back - a client contacted me and wanted something similar, and realised I couldn't find the photos on my page. This was a Chocolate Mudcake, filled and covered with Vanilla Buttercream. The edible image was supplied by Zahari and the wonderful Dina.
Our Story
Happy to be back doing what I love, and that's creating beautiful Cakes and Desserts. I'm also enjoying passing on those skills to others through Cake Decorating lessons. I've come back to Cake Decorating after a slow-down since moving from Bunbury, where I also taught Cake Decorating for several years. I'll offer you some alternatives if your choice of design works out to be too expensive for your planned budget. Just remember, if you're prepared to pay up to $7 or $8 per serve for what is not always good quality cake or dessert when you're out, please don't expect your home baker and decorator to work for very much less!!
