What a joy to sign our books for Holly, an amazing National Infantry Museum Volunteer! She is soon to be step-grandma of Addison, Anna, Reese and Damon whose dad is currently stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state! Holly is looking forward to traveling there this summer and bringing our patriotic books as a gift! My husband and I were stationed at Fort Lewis back in the day and our son Caleb was born there, so lots of great memories!

What a joy to spend time with our talented illustrator, Jon MacGregor, on his Christmas break from New York Academy of Art in NYC, while drinking a cup of hot apple cider topped with homemade whipped cream!!! Jon is in the final semester as he pursues his Masters of Fine Art. Our company, Freedom Train For Kids is beyond blessed to work with not only an immensely gifted artist, but a person with incredible strength of character and integrity that influences all he continues to pursue in his life. We are dreaming BIG with ideas for all to come in our upcoming book series!!! So much gratitude to the Lord for guiding our paths together. Thank you again Jon for stopping by to spend time together along with your beautiful and amazing sister Ellie, whom I completely adore!!!

Meet my Kansas people! Fun Fact: I was actually born in Olathe, Kansas while my dad was training in the Navy as an Air Traffic Controller! As you can imagine, it was so fun to meet this precious family upon their daddy's graduation and sign our patriotic book for Brooklyn, Andrew, Eila and Charlotte! Both dad and mom were born and raised in the amazing state of Kansas, with mom's family being established there in 1870!
My Family Fun Fact: Our son Caleb trained in the Army as an Air Traffic Controller and he and his family now live in Kansas, with him working for the F.A.A. Lots of love to all my Kansas people!!!

It was wonderful to meet this family from California upon graduation of their son, and sign our chapter book for their grandkids, Jamie and Jacob! What a joy to meet one of the National Infantry Museum's great employees! As a former Elementary teacher, Lindsey is my favorite kind of parent in the world!!! She is building a library at home for her son Luke, who is entering Kindergarten this year. And she reads aloud to him, which is one of the very best ways to invest in children to build a strong foundation of literacy! She buys one book a week for his library and I was so honored to sign a book for his collection! WOW!!!

Last week my amazing and talented husband, Tim Maggart sang as the
Keynote Concert at the National Convention of the Blue Star Mothers of America in Nashville, TN! This is an AWESOME organization of women who are past and present moms of deployed children serving our country. They serve and represent our nations' finest and send care packages filled with love and support all around the world!!! We absolutely adore Blue Star Mothers of America!!! As creatives, it is an incredible blessing to connect with our people who deeply share in our vision, mission and passions... we sold out of all the CDs and children's books we brought!!! I thank you with all my heart Blue Star Mothers of America, for your true kindness and generosity towards us. Tomorrow is one of the most momentous days in US history! D-Day was a day that shall live in infamy of all the brave soldiers and allies who stormed the beaches of Northern France in one last push to finally end World War II. We are so thankful for their sacrifice and courage so we can live free.

It was such an honor to sign "America's Patriotic Freedom Train" for this amazing military family and learn about their story! Grandpa and Grandma met in Hawaii when they were young and both serving in the Air Force. They married and then both served and retired from the Air Force. Now both their sons are headed to Hawaii for a deployment, one an Army Chinook Pilot and the other an Army Intel Officer, Ranger and Purple Heart recipient. Grandpa and Grandma are now on their way back to live in Hawaii while their sons are stationed there and to be a part of their precious grandkid's lives, Brantley and Haddie. Brantley is 10 years old and has moved 9 times at this point in his life! We honor this very special military family and their tremendous service to our beloved country! Aloha!
