Happy dance... this pair has now found a new abode. They speak to the story my old city life, happily behind me these past 17 years!
All embellished with mono-printed specialised papers and some silk fabrics.
Just gobstruck! Absolutely stunning!
Some more silk lusciousness from my studio this week. Love making these and artscarf wraps. They're so versatile that no matter how you wear them, they will look different depending on how you put them on!
I love making these beautiful things....my and artscarf wraps are whats been happening in the studio this week. Each one is unique which is what keeps my passion-fire alight!
The creative silky mess in my studio atm! Stock building between art projects....a nice distraction!
Popped into Deloraine's Art as Mania today and found this on the wall! Forgot about it actually.....its a mixed media i did some years ago called Gaia's Garden! Its big, bright, cheery..and it can be yours!
Thank you Nolan Gallery and Nolan School of Art ....great to see one of my faves go to its forever home! π€Έ
June Hopes lovely Synthesis off to a new home tomorrow. A textile work made from merino fleece, silk and sundry fibres it is inspired by the shoreline of Ulverstone, the artists home.
Inspiro from morning walk on 'my' beach.
Well....de-stashing makes you find things you forgot you had! My stash of Japanese kimono pieces has been hidden away for some time, but emerged as i re-organised my studio storage space. Determined to DO SOMETHING WITH THIS, I thought i would create a snazzy arty jacket! Well....ive been working on it for almost a week and really havent got too much to show. But....im glad my lounge floor is surfacing again! Watch this space! π€£

THANK YOU ... to everyone who supported me in the journey to create my solo exhibition, 'Shorelines' at - to those who visited the show, those who contacted me with lovely messages, those who encouraged me, those who purchased my work and of course, .nolan.756 for taking a risk and giving me the opportunity.
Whilst the show is now off the wall, the work is still available.
The images above is 'Synthesis', a low relief mixed media diptych that seemed to need 3 pics to show it all!

Just one week to go...my solo textile exhibition, Shorelines, at , Hobart. Inspired by Tasmania's coastline and geology, the work uses my favourite medium of and other fibres and papers to create low profile relief mixed media art.
I popped in yesterday and it was wonderful to hear how well its been received. Thanks .nolan.756.
This is 'Solace', a part of my solo exhibition, Shorelines, at . The work is , silk, mono printed papers , then collaged with botanically dyed watercolour paper and other mono printed papers.
The inspiration came from the coastline near my home on the central northern coast of Tasmania, in particular the unique rock formations, textures and colours that abide there.
This is Symphony, one of the larger of the mixed media works in my solo exhibition, Shorelines, at Hobart's . I've included some grabs which show the complexity of detail in the piece which includes natural fibres, silk fabric, specialised mono-printed papers, hand stitchied embellishment just to name a few. Seeing it in reality will reveal more!

Bon voyage, Confluence! With thanks to Nolan Gallery and Nolan School of Art
Confluence, a textile shallow relief made of Merino wool and silk by June Hope is off to rural Victoria.
A couple of images of one of the main pieces from my current solo exhibition, Shorelines, at . This one I call Confluence as it was inspired by my walks on my local beach where a creek terminates into the sea. This work which is all and some silk involved many techniques and processes to create the array of sculpted textures that bring it alive. See it now....and perhaps imagine it in your space!
I wonder what the sane people are doing! Questioning mine!
Handfelted merino fleece on fine black silk chiffon cutting out the fabric to create a grid which is a small part of an art project that may or may not see the light of day! Hmmmmm!
Always like ro see my work styled in situ. I think this one, Rhythm, is just perfect in this space... just so happens its my spare roon! (before it went to Hobart for showing) Perhaps it would be perfect in your place?
You can see it now on the fabulous old colonial walls at where my solo exhibition, Shorelines is on for another couple of weeks.
Sometimes, ya just gotta play!
