We’ve done this family beach trip every year since I’ve been on this earth. And it feels like it gets better every year! Grateful for good times with family 🫶

This past weekend we traveled to Washington DC to take on my first ever HYROX Race, and I think you can you tell by the photos that we had a pretty good time! I always looked at as a type of competition that would really challenge me, and it truly did not disappoint. Because it’s a fairly new sport, they do not have adaptive divisions yet. Knowing this I knew it would be impossible for me to try one of these races on my own because of my vision loss. There is lots of running involved, large crowds, the need to be able to see which station is where, and a few movements that I would need adjustments on. Luckily suggested I give it a try in the doubles race with her by my side! We did the entire race together, with Reagan guiding me through the course and taking on some of the movements that required more vision- like ALL the wall balls at the end 😂

It was an absolute blast, and we even ended up putting up a competitive time in our age group! 3rd place for my first race, and Reagan’s first try at Doubles! So great to have had such a strong and competitive partner! Can’t wait to do it again at some point.

But now…. It’s time for the CrossFit Games season. Head down. Refocusing. Here we go again!

Tri Us ✨

We DID something this weekend! Anna and I set out to do our first Triathlon together, and we had so much fun doing it! I want to use this post to brag on .p.tarbert because SHE is the only reason I was able to do this race. When my original guide pulled out of the race just 4 short weeks ago, this girl stepped up to the plate without hesitation. Like me, Anna has never done a triathlon before, and she decided to take this challenge on with me and FOR me so that I didn’t have to pull out of the race. She only had 4 weeks to train for this, and she went all out. I admire her dedication and willingness to take on such a big responsibility. I also admire her determination (aka stubbornness) to not stop when things got hard, and to see our goal to fruition. I seriously can’t thank you enough Annie! There’s no one I’d rather have by my side in tough races like this than you!

If you’re wondering how we did- we crushed it! Especially to be our first race! The swim was freezing and the bike course was hilly! BUT the run was a BLAST, and such a fun way to finish. Would I do another one? Heck yes. Buttttt overall I think I realized for me, triathlon is just a much more cumbersome way to get to the start line of a foot race 😂

Back to CrossFit and track training for now 🏃‍♀️🏋🏻‍♀️

Life has been WILD lately (busy with all the good things) SO I’m just now getting a moment to reflect on this achievement and share a little about it! If you’ve been following my journey, you may remember that I found the sport of about a year and a half ago. I fell in love with the challenge of it and to my surprise, WON the last year! Fast forward to 2023 and I was feeling super confident. At that point I had a full year of strategic coaching from my coach and we had made some major strides in my fitness over that time! I was confident and excited heading into this year’s season. I was battling a minor shoulder injury, but nothing was going to keep me away from competing. The Open starts and I was shocked as the leaderboard started to unfold. I was BLOWN AWAY by how many amazing, strong, and FIT blind women I had to battle against. And so many of those women are new to CrossFit just like I was last year! THAT is what I’m fired up for this year. I am beyond excited and proud to say I am a CrossFit Games Champion again this year. But it’s not because I was able to defend my title. It’s honestly because of how honored I am to call myself an adaptive CrossFit athlete alongside all the other women in the Vision Division! 🥇

Unfortunately for us, our season is over. We do not get to compete in person at the Games this year. However, The CrossFit Games has promised to have ALL adaptive divisions compete in person at the Games next year as long as there is enough participation in the divisions. Sooooo I’m feeling pretty good about ours! Let’s grow this thing together so we can continue to breakdown stereotypes of “blind people” and people with disabilities all over the world!
•••
For anyone of you going to Maddison for the Games, I WILL be there for our podium ceremony and to spectate so reach out to me so we can meet up! ✨
•••
One last big thank you to everyone who supports me in this sport. I couldn’t do it without amazing people helping me along the way! Continue in comments…

It’s hard to believe we are a little over a week out from the start of the 2023 CrossFit Games season! Now is the time to rally my team and support system to make sure everything is READY for the weeks of competition to come. Shout out to my coach with , my miracle worker of a chiropractor , the affiliate I plan to do the open at , and the fuel that keeps me going through ALL of the rigorous training and competition days ! Without these people and businesses I truly wouldn’t be in the position I’m in- Fittest on Earth attempting to hold on to the title for a second year in a row! Let’s. do. THIS! ✨

If you’ve never tried UCan you seriously need to get on board! I live by the UCan edge gels to fuel my runs and endurance style workouts and also to recover with after a hard workout if I know I have another one later in the day. I also use there chocolate energy + protein powder and bars for an easy breakfast and post workout snacks! I’ve seen such an improvement in my training and competition performance since I’ve started using their products so I can’t recommend them enough. Send me a DM for a discount code on your next order 🤍 photo by-

When I train I forget about my disability. I forget that I am going blind. I forget that I have limitations not everyone experiences. I just GO. And it feels SO good. ALWAYS IN FRONT

I spent the first 20+ years of my life trying to hide my blindness. I accepted and learned to own my blindness years ago, but even now I still catch myself thinking things like “pretend like you know who they are even if you can’t see them”, “try to look in the direction of their eyes so they think you are making eye contact”, or “don’t look at your phone right now. You have to hold it an inch from your face and they’ll know something’s wrong.” Crazy right? When I compete in CrossFit, there is no time to think about that. There’s no time to even consider my disability. All there is to do is charge forward with the task at hand. My instincts kick in and I just do. I feel for things I can’t see so I can find them quicker. I use an aid or guide to help move from spot to spot efficiently. I don’t doubt myself for a second, because there’s no time to! And let me tell you, you don’t know HOW freeing that is! has created a competition where adaptive athletes are pushed to their absolute limits while celebrating what makes us unique as athletes. This past weekend was so much fun, and walking away with the WIN was just the cherry on top. Honored to be a small part in the growth of competitive adaptive CrossFit! Huge shoutout to all of the new friends we met this weekend and the entire WheelWOD team for an unbelievable experience. Thank you for being my toughest critic, biggest cheerleader, and kick in the butt I needed to get each and every event win that got me to the top of that podium. And shoutout to my coach with . So much progress has been made already, and, it’s only the beginning! 🎉

Day one of the WheelWOD Games and you know how I’m fueling 🔥 Stay tuned for a full weekend of hard workouts and good times! It’s my first year ever competing here, and already my favorite adaptive competition I’ve ever been to!
