THE FEELINGS DIMENSION // Every thought you think and every word you speak is an affirmation. All of our self-talk, our internal dialogue, is a stream of affirmations. You’re using affirmations every moment whether you know it or not. You’re affirming and creating your life experiences with every word and thought. An affirmation opens the door to what's already yours. By doing affirmations, you are consciously choosing words that will either help eliminate something from your life or help bring in something new. December is a few days away so as we gear up to tackle this last month of the year, it's important that we do so mindfully. Let's be each other's accountability partner! Setting intentions is a way to shift your mindset by taking a pause to reflect on what it is you really want. The @__soulabode__ intention for December is I SHOW UP FOR MYSELF NO MATTER WHAT. That's not always easy or looks the way you think it's supposed to but it's so necessary.
We're setting our November #intention ACT WITH COURAGE and we're bringing our @__soulabode__ Family with us! The soul of our brand is YOU, our community of practice because we all need guidance and accountability. So let's begin by setting our intention for November, Act With Courage... Let's begin... 1) Ask yourself... what do you fear and where does that fear stem from? Be honest and as detailed as you can be. 2) Go inside yourself and breathe so you can sit with those feelings for a moment. 3) Visualize being courageous as you focus on this fear you're holding onto... visualize how you want to feel. 4) Create a list of words that will help you align with those feelings 5) Speak your desired outcome 6) Then ask yourself daily for the next month... does what I'm speaking/doing align to my desired outcome? THE SOUL CONNECTION// Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts. When these affirmations are repeated over and over again, and you BELIEVE them, they begin to take charge of your thoughts, slowly changing your pattern of thinking and ultimately changing your life We understand that when it comes to setting intentions, or repeating mantras and affirmations, it may not just come naturally for some. When you become environmentally aware, you will be able to realize how your daily habits affect you and the environment that surrounds you. You will start to recognize how your physical environment either supports your wellness or diminishes it. You can’t always choose what’s in the environments you live, work, or play in. But taking small steps to make your environments safer and limiting your exposure to potentially harmful substances can help keep you healthier. When you focus on improving your surroundings, you will start to experience a more balanced lifestyle. Questions to ask yourself around The Surroundings Dimension are: Do I live in a clean and tidy home without clutter? Do I have a relationship with nature? Integrating movement into your life is a way to fuel your body, engage your mind and find a home for your soul. Moving our bodies AND moving the energy IN our bodies, directly affects the production of serotonin which we like to call the "Happy Chemical". So when you feel good working out, this allows your body to produce endorphins which we call Stress Fighters. Endorphins activate opioid receptors in the brain and are nature's way of keeping us away from feelings of pain and moving us toward feelings of pleasure. Movement, in any form, can also foster new brain cell growth and preserve existing brain cells. So applying EXERCISE as medicine is the foundation for longevity, vibrancy, a strong immune system and gives you agency over your health. Questions to ask yourself around The Movement Dimension are: Am I getting restful and adequate sleep? Do I make conscious decisions about what I put in my body?
